Here is the situation: I have a 3 x 3 tent and two lights: G3000 and SE5000(both Spider Farmer). At the moment i have the G3000 working in the tent but I will probably change it to the more powerful light later in flower.
I would like to grow some more plants though and I think I should get another tent. BUT: should I get a bigger one like 4 x 8 and put both lights there, or just get another 3 x 3 or 4 x 4?
Pros and cons of those? Please help me I’m at a loss here!!
Separate tents give you the option of running a different light schedule in each tent.

@merlin44 Thank you for the input. Do you see any pros in a big tent option?

I grow in an 8’X8’ room that I built in my basement. The grow area is 6’X8’. I like to grow four to six large plants in that space. You need a large space to grow more than one large plant. I mostly grow photo period plants with a few autos here and there.

You might look at how much flower you consume in a year then base your grow around that. I can do around a pound of flower per plant indoors which leaves me with a LOT of dried flower.

This is a very important factor. I grow plants about the same size as @Myfriendis410. I only grow 4 or more plants because I have the room and lights to do it. I end up with tons of dried flower that I need to either give away or toss out.

@merlin44 @Myfriendis410 Realistically I have about 4 x 8 worth of space in my lung room, maybe a bit more.
Idea is to yield as much as possible with the lights I have. Mostly I grow autoflowers, but I would want to try some fotoperiod run too in the future.
I guess the better option for me would be the second tent, maybe a 4 x 4. That should fit another 4 plants in 3 or 5 gallon pots.

Running autos and photo period plants in the same space is usually not a problem. You just hit the photo period plants with the appropriate light schedule for the veg or flower. The autos can just to their thing along side.
I am not suggesting one way or the other on the tents. Just providing additional information.

I have a 3x3 and 4x4. This grow I did an auto and photo tent. I taught myself cloning this run and kept the clones with the autos on a 18-6 schedule. I now have 3 clones ready to flip. They basically sat in the corners in small pots vegging in the auto tent. Now I have a quick 10 week run to another harvest. Lots of ideas you will hear and all valid, just depends what you want to do. Good luck .

@merlin44 Yes that’s also true, only thing is I think autos yield might suffer a bit from the 12/12 light period instead of 18/6 or 20/4 etc. I don’t have my own experience about this but it’s whag I’ve heard…

Spider Farmer claims the SE5000 will do a 4x4 tent. So unless you would be open to buying a new light as well. 4x4 might be a consideration.
That being said, there are a lot of other considerations when running two tents rather than one, Exhaust fan/s, Circulation fans, Heater, Humidifier/dehumidifier, Water source, etc, etc.
@ I have heaters, another inline fan I gould get cheaply, and the Spider Farmer humidifier has the tube split in two so it could cover both tents.
Also if I had the other tent for flowering autos I don’t think I would need a humidifier in it at all. Some oscillating fans I’d need more and that’s it.
Hey, this is starting to take shape already!!
