So my plants are doing well and i just bought a cheap ppm meter and after testing in and out is it possible that in is 1830 ppm and out 4310 ppm? Seems impossible.? If the plants are doing so well
We see this pretty frequently. With your runoff TDS so high you should be on water only until TDS drops to around 1,500 ppm or so. Then resume supplements. Not knowing what medium you’re in but FFOF will do this as will soils like Miracle Gro (NOT recommended).
It’s not the amount of water you give the plant but how frequently you give it to them that causes problems. If you feel the numbers are too high go ahead and water with the extra gallon not going to hurt just help. Sorry @Myfriendis410 not trying to step on your toes
So again today was feeding day so after getting the readings added 1 gallon of ph water which has mostly drianed out. Iwill read this water to see if these much difference. With this extra water today i wont even cosider water or nutes till monday next week possibly. Thanks for all the in put. Ill post reading in an hour or so. Want to let drainage finish… since i had about 20% run off from the feeding im guessing most of this gallon of straight water will come out.
Plants that big I Normally water to run off on feed day an water only day. (fox farm soil) About three days lift the pots check weight to see if it is time to water again. This can vary depending on pot size and room temperature. Nice looking plants good luck✌️
My local grow shop said feed each time i water but now that i can read in and out i think i can move more to feed one day and next time water is needed use just water. I can now monitor out put water so i know when feeding is optimal without over feeding.
Thank you. They truly are hardy thats why i didnt know the feeding was overpowering but can only imagine beter things as i fine tune the in and out water!!!
It is possible to feed every three days I have done it. Most of the time less feed is better. I never feed more than a 1000 PPM . @merlin44 Has shared info on feeding on water day.
Normally when I see high TDS in the medium I simply run water until it drops into a more comfortable range. No need to flush as the plant is already seeing high nutrient levels in the medium. I think you would be okay if you skipped doing a flush.
So with advanced nutrients sensi grow i have been using part A and B, cal mag, B52, and big Budon my flowering plants. They call for 16 ml, A+B, 8ml cal mag,B52 andBig Bud per gallon of water. It take 1 and a half gallons to get run off so i will use the formular for 1 gallon on 1 1/2 gallon to try to reduce 1800 ppm back down to around 1000 ppm…?
