Also picked up this little gadget and it’s a game changer for me. Mix everything together, let bloom, pour in, push gummy/stir button. It holds temp at 180 deg and mixes for the time you select.
@Caligurl no. I thought about trying to but honestly I can get 98% pure much more economically than I can make it. It’s an oil based disty that’s thick af. 1000mg/ml.
You’d need 21g of flower @ 20% (Or 30g @ 15%) to hit 40mg gummies. with disty it would be 3ml.
Unless I calculated totally wrong but I’m pretty sure of the calculation.
I use my concentrate and it’s between 750-800mg per gram. So I can make 75 - 40mg gummies using 4 grams of concentrate (or less). There is very, very, little taste.
I purge all the way down and it’s super thick but it melts into pretty much anything. I can use it for everything… even dab if I want. I don’t use any oil with my gummies… just a nice plain and simple gummy bear.
Last 4 batches I’ve used the disty and it’s a game changer for gummies in my opinion. I use 3ml (3000mg) for a batch which puts me at around 40mg/ea 4ml gummy. Of course, I can make the batch smaller prior to adding the disty to increase the potency. But 40 is a pretty good number across my circle of friends.
So, if you’re making your concentrate - what’s the ratio of flower to base liquid before reducing it?
One thing with disty in my very little experience is mixing. If you don’t mix it a ton, some gummies will be really strong and some very weak. That’s why I got the mixer. Set it and forget it. More consistent for sure. Again, the price I get it is ridiculously low (I’m lucky) so I’m on that kick right now.
3ml (or 3 grams) of my concentrate would be between 2250 - 2400 so actually not that far off of the distillate.
When I’m processing the qwet, I put about .65 ounces of broken down bub in a mason jar and cover it with just enough alcohol to cover the material plus about an inch.
It doesn’t matter how much flower I start with… a higher thc content plant will yield more end product but it will still have the same strength weight for weight.
It’s the same when I’m using qwet… I can see the little spots of concentrate if i look hard enough and I just make sure they are gone or 98% gone.
The first three are mystery autos from fastbuds, one is likely Apple Fritter. They live on the three season porch and were named by my significant other.
In keeping with our bizarre weather, the forecast until mid October is for 70’s and dry as a bone. The ladies will stay out there and can mature at leisure.
I’m back to playing Mother Nature. We are back to the drought; it was the driest September on record. I water every day and fertilize when I think it needs it. Just like an indoor grow, but I have the best lights ever.
