Can anyone help me figure out what’s going on here? I’ve grown several others like this with no problem. The leaves are twisted and growth has slowed. Temp on the heat mat is at 78F, humidity is at 65%, a fan is indirectly running on low. I may have overwatered, but I’ve never seen this kind of twisting from that. Should I start over also?
This happens sometimes. They will usually grow out of it.
Here is a photo of one of mine that I took this morning.
This plant (and its partner) may not amount to much but my experience tells me that it will be a good to excellent plant after it gets past the seedling stage.
Yours looks much better than mine at this time. Mine will be fine and so will yours.
It is important to keep the humidity up for seedlings. I do this using a clear Solo cup as a dome.
Edit: My two that are shriveled and struggling broke ground 10 days ago. The other three seedlings are doing great and will be transplanted today.
Here is a shot of a seedling taken this morning. This plant is just 4 days older than the pathetic ones.
They are both Gold Leaf seeds that I purchased five years ago.
If it was me i would remove the heat mate my friend happy growing
It’s so hard to diagnose seedlings unless it’s a clear case of “damping off” or over watering which doesn’t look like this.
If it was bigger I’d say ph related but it’s not a good idea to jump to anything with little ones.
If larger and more plant to analysis, then it’s much easier trouble shoot “what direction” to look into…
I’m again in agreement with @merlin44 (seems to be me and you this morning surfing new posts)
They can look all kinds of weird when little and usely grow out of it .
That being said, it could maybe benefit from going ahead and up potting to its next home with fresh soil…
If you did over water earlier then this could have messed with the soil ph and a fresh pot should fix that right up.
I’ve no idea how to test soil ph in such a small amount of soil . So in my opinion, if it is ph related, up potting is the best approach to fix that as it’s probably not a good idea to try and “flush” a seedling
What he said!!! Don’t flush a seedling unless your goal is to flush it down the toilet.
