Hey all. Have any of you that have grown the auto zkittlez from ilgm had any issues with topping their genetics? Did the girls bounce back well, Herm, etc.
Looking to top and LST but curious about the strength of the genetics for said plans.
I’m not sure that I would train an auto since you need recovery time and have no control over when she flowers.

I have fimmed & LST’d several auto’s from ILGM but not zkittles. They all came out great last one was a G.G. auto & I’ve never had a one hit & quit before (but I am a cheap date). Didn’t weigh any of them cuz it’s for me & to give away to friends G.G. was 11 quart jars about 7/8ths full after curing.

You can top as long as you aren’t too far into the grow. I topped and LST’d my GG autos, no problems.

Yeah, week 3ish to 4ish. I wouldn’t go too much past that.

Zkittles autoflower from ILGM has been experiencing a number of hermaphrodites. With that in mind I’d a: be leery of any training and b: keep a close eye on the plant/plants for nanners.

I’ve seen that they’ve been herming on the fem seeds but didn’t know we had seen it in the autos too… unfortunate really everyone had good feedback on the buds, sucks they are prone to herm

The guy that gave me these (auto) seeds (hydro) said he’s been through three grows with them and no hermies. Hopefully he got a good batch and/or I don’t have the bad ones!

From what Ive learned/heard/experienced…Leave the autos alone ..Thats why they are Autos… Sure there is some trimming of the big fan leaves etc.But too much manipulation of the Auto`s kinda defeats the whole purpose,no?..

I have topped zkit autos from ilgm i have left them alone and did nothing but slight defols and to be honest i really did not see much difference between the 2 that were left alone and the one that was topped. The topped one was about 4 inches shorter and had just about a quarters more tree on it. Other than there was almost no diffferences besides the slight difference in looks from one being shortwr. U can do it and it was about 3 weeks when i first did mine. Even llipppled it and it came out beaitiful. A smaller yield but a beautiful plant. @Nicky @Not2SureYet are sweet auto growers. I’m new to growing but have been doing LST on my gorilla glue auto. The plant doesn’t seem to mind at all. I can literally see that it’s continued growing just a few hours later. Why not try to maximize the amount of buds? I didn’t top because I didn’t want to stunt it given short veg time but I probably could have.

Yep, I topped my WW CBD Auto’s at week 3-4, just after the new growth above the 4th node stretched high enough to top off. None of the plants had any reaction whatsoever, other than to explode in growth at the lower nodes in a few days after. These plants are very adaptive, it seems.

She looks good.From what I have done. You definitely want to do as much lst now as you can. I top every thing so I am biased. But for the Zkittles I have done. They start out looking like they will be short small plants. Then around week 5, they really too off. This is just to show how fast the 2 I did grew in a few weeks You can see that I top my autos towards the end of the fourth week.

I top all of mine. One big cola looks great. But every thing under it gets less light. Topping or fimming will keep things a little more even up top. You could bend the top down. But it will be headed right back up soon.
If that one I showed was not topped. My light would be about 18" higher than all the other colas.
@bonnie1 can you tag @btgrows into your journal please. Bonnie does not top her autos. So you can get an idea what her un topped autos look like. She grows some great autos too

@Not2SureYet @btgrows - I fim twice before a month old. My lights were tied up as high as they could go. I took the big cola first & left the rest to get more light. This AH was huge, very leafy & pain in the butt to trim! I’m taking a break from AH. This really threw me off cause I have 4 CP and 3 tents. I usually have one plant per tent but sometimes I can fit 2 if they’re small. Anyway, my 4 CP are doing great. When I turn lights on later, I’ll take pics. I started 2 Bruce and 2 CP, love CP. 3 are in the little bags & one is popping up now. I ordered blue dream and they’re on the way. Pics in awhile
