Topping growth nodes?

I was wondering, with the introduction of LST to make the main two colas (after first topping) equal/lower level to healthy growth nodes and then top them, would they also produce two new growth nodes from the cut? I’m a little high and if anyone is confused and needs me to elaborate any more I can, but for now here’s a picture of the plant I have in mind

Left and right stalks are main colas, front and back stalks are growth nodes. Idea is to top the growth nodes and scrog

Sweet. How much room do you have? If you dont have much room width wise, and want to split for more colas, i would FIM. BUT, if you have a little room, i would tie your longest branches down to match the lower growth ( if youre wanting to SCROG) you wamt your canopy to be as even as possible. If you lay down, allow the end to turn up. Wait a day then FIM the tops . But keep in mind if you do this, you need to wait several nodes in order to either fim again or flip.

You can top away! The branches coming from the main stem should have asymmetrical growth, so you can top them as you would the main. And you can top the growth from those second toppings, and so on. Kinda like reverse fractal imagery.

If you go with topping, leave a decent piece of stalk above the node to prevent splitting as the stalk will shrink a bit after the cut.

Thanks for the replies y’all, I’m gonna do this have have a beautiful plant soon

So yes and no.
Toping dosen’t exactly make “new nodes” grow but rather whatever nodes is below the top becomes the "main tops.
So if you top and plant and the 2 nodes grow, you then top those 2 branches at a point just above 2 nodes then you would have 4 “main tops” .
You can do this as many times as you want really kinda to a point.
Plants typically at a certain point in maturity stop production two nodes “side by side” and begin to stagers the nodes if that makes sense…

I see what you mean, after a while plants lose their symmetry. Does this mean that after that point, the plant can’t be topped?

#1 = topping no. one
#2 = topping no. two

Not really sure what you are asking. If the question is can to top a plant / branch multiple times -yes

My question was more or less if I could top stalks that aren’t the main growth nodes. I’ve already topped the plant once, but I was wondering if I could top the two stalks (front and back stalks) growing parallel to the two main colas (left and right stalks). The front and back stalks are not the main stalks, but are growing tall and level with the two main colas, so I was wondering if I could top those two as well for a total of 8 colas to throw in a SCROG

Can still be topped but will look more like this then 2 shoots .

This is that smallest clone, it was a branch so it quickly lost its symmetry.

You absolutely can top any branches you want just like you would the main stalk as many times as you want. Many people scrog just like that :+1:

Hell yeah, thanks for the good info.
