The plant I have is approaching week 6 of flower and doing well by my standards. That said, would it be beneficial to top dress the plant at this point? My thoughts it could increase trich growth and boost terpines. It may be late in the game and barring something unforeseen, the plant will produce good flower. She is really thirsty right now - fed her three gallons of RO with the prescribed Jack’s 321 2 evenings ago and the soil is already close to dry at 3 inches under the surface. If I do top dress with micro amendments, what would you suggest?
Jacks contains all micronutrients except magnesium. Epsom can be used for that. It is a complete product and top dressing is redundant and unnecessary.
What is your runoff PPM?
Thanks MidwestGuy. I haven’t checked it the last few feedings. I’ll check it next time. The EC going in was 2.6. That was with 4 grams part A, 3 grams Part B, and 3 MLs calmag per gallon.
Skip this Grow Bro, calcium is in part B and Magnesium in part A
Dude I thought that was the purpose of adding epsom??
Epsom does add magnesium but your plant and roots can only absorb and feed so much. A lot of us that use jacks use a modified schedule of 4/2 no Epsom. 4 grams of part A and 2 grams of part B
Thanks dude!
Anytime Grow Bro, we pick up a lot info on the forum
That makes complete sense. Leaves do show a little nute burn in spots
There’s a chart floating around somewhere that shows the symbiotic relationship of all the macro and micro nutrients. An abundance of one can affect the absorption of another. Seems like I see add more calmag suggested here more than I would like to. 95% of the time it’s PH related in my experience
I’ll look for it. Been following the Jacks schedule really close up until the last couple weeks and giving the plants maybe ten percent more but always adding 3 MLs of Calmag to every gallon. It takes me 3 gallons of RO to get a good runoff in 7 gallon containers. I always have to add 5-6 ML PH up to get close to get 6.5.
