Too late for an outdoor grow?

Hi All,

I’m a new grower. Got into for medicinal reasons and found this site. I just received my seed order today. 20 WW auto and 5 GOlds. Seeds look good and arrived very fast!

Due to having kids I am thinking the best option is a quasi guerrilla grow close by the house so I can monitor.

My first of most likely many questions is: is it too late in the season to start a outdoor grow? I live in south suburbs of Chicago Illinois if that helps.

Thanks and I’m really loving this site/group!

Plenty of time for some WW Autos, they only take between 90 and 110 days…

Not sure about the Goldies, they are photo period, and I haven’t had any experience with outdoor growing and about what month the sun will make them flip to flower…

Definitely time for the autos, they grow quickly and go into flower on their own. You might be cutting it close with the photo period ones where you live. I’m not sure when it starts turning cold in Chicago. I would say go for it if you lived in the south somewhere.

I might try a Gold just to see. Do you think the remaining seeds would be good until next year?

Yes, as long as you store them right.

Depends on where your geographic location is. Where I am I could get a grow in and finish in October. In the North…Not so much  Happy growing

Any tips or links to share that show proper storage of seeds??

cool, dry, dark… make sure the seeds are sealed in something air tight, don’t want any moisture getting at them,

I checked Chicago is in north hemisphere in a middle zone between pole and equatorial line . Now it is beginning of summer.if this is correct I think yes you can start a outdoor growht. You cannot obtain 2kg tree plants but you will have a decent harvest like an autoflowering ones. I intend you can only by daylights and temperature right and you will harvest till mid September to late October it depends by strain. I don’t know weather conditions and early frozen in your zone. Happy growing.
I would try a growth instead of seeds storage
