Haven’t been on much for a minute. My vote is for LST. I ran out of space to spread my plants out this grow. But, when you look down on the one I trained the most and see over 20 beautiful bud sites you know it’s well worth it.
@Snakebender no odd foliage on that girl, a little weird flowering structure on my strawberry pie though, only thing I’m not happy about is the size of the purple lemonade, but that’s my fault for not using the light properely and abusing them with 100% power from seed to harvest

Yeah, to be honest I only tried a few times, I’d just as soon top them. For autos though I think the fim is less stressful than topping but none of the autos I grew seemed to care either way
I’ve trained every auto I’ve ever grown with the exception of a few outside on the deck. Some just lst, and some were topped with lst afterwards. I’ve never had 1 stall. Normally by the next day they are up and running. The whole “don’t stress autos” thing just isn’t true in most cases
I honestly think it’s plant dependant, I’ve had some LOVE lst and it soed them up, I grew three cherry cola autos and 2 of them rejected, the second I tied them down they slowed down massively, so I just let them go naturally and they turned out much better, I topped and have LSTd my strawberry pie, and I’m regretting it, she won’t be frosty at all in comparison to the lemonade I let go natural, I honestly think topping and LST can most definitely harm the quality if not the quantity

Smart move. You’ll be training every one of them once you see the difference in yield.
Old post but still relevant. If people that are lst their plants are being stunted, they arent doing it correctly. Theyre either doing it at the wrong time, or theyre stressing the plants in other ways.
LSTs MAIN use is so you dont stunt your plants by defoliating. If you LST correctly, the only leaves, branches, etc youll remove are a couple tiny ones at the bottom under canopy, and msybe 5 TOTAL fan leaves per plant.
Its not the training thats killing yiekds, density, its what yoyre doing, or not doing ontop of LST.
Bend the main branch over, spread the lower branches out. Thsts it. After a couple weeks into flowering, remive the odd leaf blocking bud sites, if done correctly, you might clip 5 total leaves.
So boys n girls, look at what youre doing or not doing thats stressing your plants.
Been growing autos for years, its proven that lst DOES incrssse bud densityy and yield. Thats not bro science, its science.
