Don’t count out @Hellraiser he has converted to coco as well. And has a much better memory than a lot of us here. Reading some of his post is like a refresher course for me
I found that statement impossible to believe so decided to test out your theory at next watering.
Today is day 4 of water only for my Cherry Ice Cream clones so decided to collect some runoff and see what the EC/ppm was.
I ran 3/4 gal RO water thru each plant to get plenty of runoff (usually just give 1/2 gal), let the runoff go for a bit, then slid clean bowls under the pot elevators and collected a nice amount of runoff, then tested the EC.
So, after 4 days of water only (with RO water at 7ppm) EC was just over 1.8, or a bit over 900ppm for all 4 plants.
That is almost higher than what my grow is. I guess I didn’t think about different nutes. Using GH. I can knock it down super fast. I am only feeding 750ppm with the GH. With Jacks. I am in the 1800 range by the end of the grow. I am glad you caught that @Hellraiser I am not trying to mislead any one. I am normally in autopots with the jacks. So it doesn’t get flushed. The others get a couple days but that it it. I need to find the notes for the DT I did. I know it was flushed since it was grown for @Myfriendis410 and he requested a flush
Half the plants were on Jacks around 950 ppm and other half were on AN around 850ppm, so obviously they both had some nute buildup during flowering even though I water to at least 25% runoff each time and the nutes are not clearing out real fast. I will test again in a few days and see how much it comes down.
I am pretty far behind on getting my notes into the pc here. But I will work on it today if it doesn’t heat up in here to fast. I am still 5 weeks out for the only top fed on I am doing now. I realized it was drying out a lot between feedings and the ppms really started climbing. I have to feed 2 times a day now. The numbers should get back in line in about a week I hope.
Nice test @Hellraiser
I talked to autopots they said 48hr and it should be considered a flush but I’ve never tested it maybe I’ll test it at the end of these ones.
I’m on day 8 of water only, checked my runoff this morning after watering and it’s just under 300ppm, getting there, have another 6 days of water only planned.
Color change coming on nicely after a week of water only, which was pretty much the same when I grew in soil.
@Hellraiser Sweet, were the leaves a purplish before the all water? I am glad you brought this back up. In about a week or so. I will be looking at water only for mine. I keep notes. But will try to remember to tag you for how fast mine drops. I am guessing they are pretty close to root bound by how they take water. It pools pretty good before starting to soak in.
Wow it took 8 days in coco… I’m shocked.
I’ll have to see how fast my green crack does in autopots on water only if I’m home enough for it… (doubtful as work season is in full swing)
Another full week, don’t you worry about yellowing?
I’ve never really liked flushing wish there was more controlled studies out there on it in a lab with tissue samples etc
@Not2SureYet got your regular status back for a bit nice
Mine never left
Nope, they were all green before starting the water only.
I don’t get much yellowing even at the end of 2 weeks of just water, unless I screw something up during the grow.
Here’s how my Cherry Ice Cream usually looks on chop day
Man… That looks tasty.
@Hellraiser did you get any other plants like that? I had one do the same with out a flush. A strain I had done before but stayed green on the first I did. It would be great to get the color for every one
Dang those like very nice @Hellraiser, that pheno is bomb.
My. Flushes ussually led to yellowing but maybe I’ll try a sample one.
Thnx for sharing.
I always “flush” for 2 weeks so always see a nice color change regardless of strain, my Cherry is just prettier than anything else I’ve ever grown.
Here’s a Gorilla Glue before the chop
Blue Dream
One of my Cherry x Bubba OG crosses (not nearly as good as straight up Cherry)
She sure is and with my successful feminized seeds project with her clones, will be searching for an even better pheno. I going to have a tent dedicated to growing out her seeds for quite a while.
Are you dropping the night time temps at all?
I had a few Purple Urkels that always went heavy purple in winter grows when the basement temps dropped 10 deg. figured some phenos were just more temp sensitive.
**Were grown from clones, so it shouldn’t have been a genetic bounce.
We keep it cold in my house (68-69F) so the plants see about a 15 degree drop at night, about 80F at lights on and a low of 65F at lights off (from what the AC Infinity controller says).
Regarding the final flush… I have well water. It has a PPM of ~380 and a pH of 7.4 out of the tap. Can I flush with that, and is there any reason to adjust the pH (since we’re flushing nutes anyway)?
Sure and no need to ph it.
