Tips to avoid mold in high humidity?

Greetings from day 58. this is my first grow and i really didn’t put much thought into the timing when i popped the seeds. it’s really hot and humid here. my blueberry will be getting heavy during the worst month and no clue about the Ahz as it still seems to have something to prove. anyone have any tips for avoiding mold issues while growing outdoors?

i’ve used neem successfully in the past on vegetables to keep powdery mildew at bay. Also have Nuke’em which anecdotally has prevented mold for others in the past. they’re considered organic and safe on vegetables, not sure what that means for buds.

Either @AAA or @Myfriendis410 both go hard in the yard. Either one of them will shed some advice

For me inside it’s all about cleanliness and air flow. And cleanliness as in myself. I always mess with my plants whenever I’m sanitized and clean.

Mold is tough. The spores are everywhere just waiting for the right circumstances.

Can you throw a fan on them? I have only ever used hydrogen peroxide to control/kill mold.

fan probably wouldn’t be practical but can look into it. how do you mix the hydrogen peroxide and how often do you spray? you can safely soak the flowers?

I believe the mix ratio is 1:10 and you use 3% H202. A quick Google will square you away.

You can spray straight 3% without ill effects. I use it and a 50/50 concentration. Before trichomes form you can spray 50/50 Isopropyl alcohol with no harm. Outside you should also be treating for pests. I use both Captain Jack’s Deadbug and Safer. Both are bacterial strains lethal to certain pests and harmless to pets and people. But you have to stay on a program.

Caterpillars and high humidity is a sure recipe for bud rot when it comes.

3% seems to be not working for me. Been pretty vigilant about it and seems to be getting worse. I’m gonna try the 50% tonight as I just flipped to flower the other day. And I have the humidity down in the 50s

Thanks for the info.

It’s a bitch to get rid of once it starts. Neem is ok as long as not in flower. H2O2 kinda works for me but if you see it start, snip out the infected part and spray with H2O2.

Strains can also play importany role. My GSCX Auto has thrived in high heat and humidity and with a week left before harvest, no sign of bud rot.

Those are huge autos btw!

I have a few Safer products- is the one you referring to the BT? I also have their neem.

i was so excited to get growing i paid zero attention to ANYTHING and just got a mix pack and been learning on the fly since. next year will pay attention for sure and probably plant so they flower in september into october. although my amnesia haze is like… “what, only 110 degrees? BRING IT”. just remains to seen how she handles the humidity once flowers start.

my first year it wiped out my entire herb garden. it even gets my indoor houseplants. if you’re not flowering give the neem a shot. it saved all of my basil. tricky part is the light schedule - you don’t want rays on it when it’s wet or it’ll burn your plants.

has anyone tried a copper spray yet? looks like thats safe throughout the whole grow.

It’s only in my tent. Like I say 73 degrees and 50% humidity not sure what else I can do. Also seems to only be on older leaves which is odd.

aright. i ordered hydrogen peroxide and copper spray. i emailed the Nukem folks to see what they say about using that while in flower

| there was some white milky thick GOO on a few of my blueberry leaves close to the bud. no clue what that was but i got rid of the leaves. should’ve taken a photo…

Might yield benzene when heated…

gotta love it when a common food preservative is also found in volcanoes and fireworks.

That’s what I was talking about eating stuff out of boxes. No bueno.
