Time to harvest? Jack Herer Auto

Hello!
This is a Jack Herer Auto… based on the pictures, do you think it’s time to harvest?

Also, I read recently about putting changing to 36 hours of darkness direclty prior to harvest, is this a thing? For all strains or certain straings?

If you don’t already have you need to get one of those cheap $20 Amazon microscope cameras and take a picture of your trichomes from your bud not sugar leaves. If you have a Jeweler’s loop that can be used as well.

This is the only way you’ll be able to see you’re trichomes.

If you could only go by pistils, I would say you’re in the window. Do you have the ability to check trichomes with a jewelers loupe, microscope or similar magnifier? How long has she been flowering for and what was the advertised flower duration of you know?

How long in flower? I’d say you have more time to bulk up.

I agree with @Myfriendis410 those buds are skinny and don’t look as if they have thickened up to their potential yet. Bud’s really fatten up (even on small midget plants)

Thanks for the feedback! I do not have a microscope or way to see it up close. I’d say it’s been flowering 6 weeks or so.

I’ll let it go another two and see where we are.

Thank you as always for the quick and great feedback!

You can have three to four weeks left. Typical time for an auto 8 to 10 weeks but that’s just breeder guesstimate

I took this picture on Feb 4, to give you a better idea.

Also did you know anything about that putting a plant in 36 hours of darkness right before you harvest, or why one would do that?

It’s a myth

Ah okay, thank you!

Best thing for you to do is get a Jeweler’s loop (less than $10) or a microscope camera $20 and check your trichomes.

6 weeks into flower you’re definitely a long way from harvest

Your have at least 3-4 weeks left IMO. They are just barely getting going. They will fatten up quite a bit.

Autos typically are ready at 10-14 weeks. Yours appears to be styling with handle bars the way the leaves are pointing up. Growers really need a way to look at the Trichomes. When funds are available you should purchase a microscope. You will use it a lot. Without it you could harvest with no potency or you can hit the sweet spot. With all the work we put into our girls the sweet spot is payday.
