This will be an ongoing update log for my 1st grow 😁

Gotcha. Maybe I’ll stick to the first one for now. I’m not sure if humidity is a factor in bud rot but it’s been between 45%~70% throughout the day and night here in hawaii

The one wash will be fine. I would recommend it if you battled with white powdery mildew (WPM) or but rot during the grow

8/5 next step update!:

Almost there! At least for one of the plants. Started the process of trimming, washing, and hanging. Because the plant was so small, trimming and washing were pretty easy. I decided to keep the plant whole so I dig it out. I was always curious about the roots, so I got a picture of it cleaned out. And last is after it’s wash. It’s in an outdoor shed that gets wind into it. So hopefully that’ll be the perfect place to dry and cure

8/7 Week 13 update!

Firstly

Had to move this out of the shed. Oops. It wreaked of hay so I immediately knew someone was wrong. So I moved it outdoors in the air where it shouldn’t get any direct sun contact and cool enough to dry out more evenly hopefully

Secondly

Thanks to the strong winds again because of another storm, I now have two bent plants…luckily they are still healthy and have supports. Part of it might just be the weight as well

Tomorrow will be the last watering until Saturday again. I’ve decided not to wait till majority of the leaves are yellow because the Pistils are progressing much faster than that. At that time they will be just a couple days short of 8 weeks into flowering. What is interesting is that they did not show color variations like the first plant. Still very green unlike the first which showed purple

I have a small feeling like I might be going too early but if anyone else has an opinion, I would love to hear it. Again this is my very first time so I’m always open to new info

First I kinda’ go by what the plant looks like (pistil color, dying leaves, etc) but I use a scope to determine if it’s at the stage I like:

So far the clearest picture I can get. Thanks to the weather being extremely windy right now, it’s makes it nearly impossible to see and focus. But they look clear still yet. So still time to wait I’m guessing

I dunno about that… I see amber and clear. You could pluck a tiny piece of just a bud, take it inside to get a pic. It’s been really windy out here lately so that’s what I do even if I just want a pic of a bug

Took your advice and took off a small bud off and got a much clearer picture. Although I’m not sure if it matters if it’s because it’s from the bottom of the plant but definitely seems clear

Definitely clear… next time try about 1/3rd to 1/2 of the way down

8/11 Quick update!:

So far the last 3 plants are still CLEAR. Checking everyday at this point because they’re supposed to be very close to harvest. They’re still outdoor and getting whatever sunlight they get without any supplemental light anymore. No nutes but plain water on schedule

As for the 1st plant, it’s been a week since hung it up and I think I waited too long. It’s been very windy and I think it should’ve started curing after Day 3 due to weather. BUT here we are. Buds are still very sticky and smelling very nice. Curing is priority because I don’t consume quickly

Did some more trimming with getting rid of the smaller leaves that were unnoticed during the Wet Trimming. Stems were nice and crispy cut. I made them pretty right and trimmed, so after everything this small plant produced 14g of flower

This plant flowered very early and stopped at 16in tall with very little branches compared to every other plant which are 20in+

Curing will be about another month with sweating and burping of the jar. With all the plants, I do plan on long term storage. So curing and vacuum sealing are top of mind as I experiment with this first plant😁

8/14 Week 14 update:

Nearly there! All plants are hanging up and drying. Of course washed all of them beforehand. This time I didn’t cut down on so much leaves with the wet trimming. I wanted to leave them with more leaves so they wouldn’t dry as fast. These buds are way bigger than the first plant and wanting them to dry as evenly as possible

As for the first plant, it smells heavenly. The smell is more on the sweeter side than the sour. Burping and sweating it twice a day but because I dried it too fast, I’m not really concerned about mold

And again I’m seeing the color differences in these plants. For some reason the first one went half purple while the other 3 are completely green. I’m wondering if the genetics caused it to flower so early and small with that color are stronger than the other plants even though they’re the same strain

Good job man!..Yeah the different phenotypes in the strain can do that…One year I had a Bruce plant green…and the same seeds same company the plant was so purple it looked black! Since you said you don’t consume a lot…Thats actually better for the curing…I usually cure for two to three months plus…I also have issues with heat as I don’t have an A/C room to dry them in…So the first batch from late April to July usually is dried in a warm room!! Not ideal but I compensate by taking down and cutting earlier…and I read were you are checking them everyday… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Bro…I know I know i did that too the first times growing…Let them alone for a few days…you’ll be surprised at how fast they will be ready…Great job man!!

Thank you very much! I’ll definitely take your advice and leave the jar alone. It is in a pantry without any light to effect it. So I’m not too worried about any kind of mold or rot. But the next time I do open it will be when I put away the next 3 plants; which if they dry nicely, will be the Saturday at the earliest for sure

Congrats @808Dredd!! Now stay out of those jars young man! :sunglasses::joy::metal:

8/18 quick update!

So I finally got to test my own bud  definitely a different taste compared to anything else I’ve had. Grinding and packing it was as well. It was very fruity with a hint of citrus for the smell. Smelt like candy honestly

So far I’ve only had Sativa dominant strains while Fat Bastard is 50/50 but leans more towards Indica traits. All the buds I’ve had have been very tight and basically popcorn. Mine was a lot more loose but still had the same snap and feel.

As I’m typing this, it is getting a little more intense but I think that’s because I took extra hits than normal. The description of the plant claims to show 30-35% THC levels. Although I think I waited too long and never checked the trichromes. So I think it might be CBD heavy. So I can’t wait till I get to the other 3 plants because I timed those way better

I love the testing phase best!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Congrats my brother on enjoying the flowers of your love and labor! May it stone you heavily. :sunglasses::metal:t2:

8/21 week 14 update!

Currently starting to cure the rest of the plants. Hanging is done and all have a nice snap to their branches

Okay so here is why I’m so EXCITED! SEEDS!! Yes one plant gave me seeds. I was not expecting any from these plants because they’re Autoflower strains. But the largest plant gave just short of an ounce of flower while giving 8 SEEDS! 8!!! I’m so excited to try them out next year and see what happens. Before planting I’ve scoured the web to see what autoflowers have in-store for growth and seeds but haven’t seen much info on it and hope to add more to those who wish to plant in the future

But anyways, the medium plant gave a nice 22g of flower while the largest plant gave 27g. The last plant I suspect much less because it was the runt of the 4 and grew to be one of the biggest but the flowers weren’t as dense

I feel you brother!! May we all be blessed with just a few seeds. I’m hoping and praying for one. :crossed_fingers:t2::pray:t2::rofl::rofl::sunglasses:
I’m definitely interested to see what a seed from an auto flower does. Keep us posted.

8/29 Week 15 update!

This will be the conclusion of my first grow! Thank you everyone who helped me out and gave me advice. Out of the 4 plants, I was able to yield 3oz! That’s insane to me to know that I’m saving that much money just by growing it on my own and learning from it. Currently they are curing and I have a vacuum pump for the jars just to prolong my storage time.

So plans for next year, Quebec Cannabis Seeds sent 3 extra seeds of a different strain. When the next season starts I plan on using those 3 along with one of the seeds that came off of the Autoflower

There isn’t much info on plants grown from other Autoflower plants. Most articles are negative to the thought or having to dig deep into random forums. So I want to have experience first hand and document it for the website and future growers. And even if it doesn’t workout, I have the other 3 to grow

Again thank you every person who helped along and celebrated with me. I’ll be posting in 2024 :face_holding_back_tears::partying_face:
