Yeah just creating space where so many leaves aren’t touching or overlapping so air can get through. But don’t go crazy maybe @dbrn32 can help out
It’s so dry here.. humidity like 35% and not really worried about bud rot or other bad stuff
I don’t do a ton of leaf stripping. I will occasionally go around and pull the top couple of fan leaves from each cola. Just to help get a little more light to mid parts.
Those look beautiful brother, I wouldn’t touch a thing. ![]()

I leave em on until the day before I chop, let the plant use em if she needs em. But if I know I am taking it out the next day I will take anything not a sugar leaf. Makes trimming easier because I typically dry trim.
Good gravy! Sorry, been a little distracted from the forum. It’s looking good in here! Gotta nail biting couple weeks coming up before harvest!
To answer your last tag, tho, I’ll leave them kinda like you got em til the buds start to get juicy and really thick. Usually about 3 weeks after the big defol. Then I’ll take off all the fans with more than a 1" stem or so, and try to take any small ones that have buds smashing into the under sides. Like, when they stack kinda close and one bud pushes into the leaves at the bottom of the next one up? Make sense?
I haven’t had to biggest numbers this way, but have had a few plants that turn out some absolute rock hard nugs.
