Testing Home-Made Cal-Mag!

I stumbled upon research on my third grow about nutrients. Home-made Cal-Mag and the benefits of corn syrup, molasses & honey. Watching a Youtube video, they suggested these three items and different variants of the three in combination. As a test I thought I’d try maple syrup. So I did a little research and found a little “hope” to give it a try…

The honey I planned on using was pure. The maple syrup as well was 100% pure grade a. I mixed honey at half a teaspoon, and maple syrup at a smaller dose, sprayed it on my plants and they seemed to have enjoyed it.

This is when I decided to make a bigger batch. This time a large 500 ml jar with 50% honey, 25% molasses & 25% Maple Syrup. I only plan on using one Teaspoon or 5ml per 2L of water in the early phases of veg. The small jar on top is 5ml exactly. The syringe is 1ml and was used for measuring. I am hoping that this new remedy or concoction, in other words, will satisfy my plants!

Note: This is a complete test and I hereby do not directly suggest this method for success.

Do you use any wetting agent in your spray?

Lemon juice.

I’m struggling to find something appropriate and non-confrontational to say as well.

It seems like an expensive way to add sugar to a plant. I’m also not sure how much calcium or magnesium you are going to get out of those products. I just use calcium chloride from a swimming pool shop and Epsom salts from the supermarket.

Hi Randy! Thanks for your reply…
I would agree. I had these things lying around and I didn’t want them getting too old…

If you were to go out of your way to do this it would be extensive and expensive!
