Terpenes becoming volatile at 65゚F

I read and have noticed that terpenes become volatile at ir above 65F.

Assuming thats why they say to dry and store UNDER 65F.

So in order not to lose any precise terpenes would the majority think it would be wise to always keep the temps 65 and below during flower?

Will that hinder bud development? Slow the plants metabolism?!

Sorry might be a duplicate post

Professional growers utilizing high CO2 systems regularly run their grow environments in the low to mid 80s. While some terpines vaporize at 70F (it is what is responsible for the lovely smell,) many terpines won’t vaporize until temps reach 100F. I don’t know that maintaining lower temps would be worth the effort.

It is, the other had zero responses so I closed it.

You won’t get to ideal leaf surface temp running canopy temp of 65f in most grows. That will slow plant processes like growth, cannabinoid, and terpene development. Seems counter productive to worry about something degrading before worrying about developing.

True. Now i hear people putting emphasis on the last 2 weeks of flower. For example, ive heard alot of people put A lot of emphasis on things like, they will grow 20% in the last 2 weeks And also with UVB light they gain 20 something more percent THC and terpenes. They suggest running it for the last 2 weeks. After everything is developed and what not, what do you think about dropping the temperature THEN down to 65 just for the last 2 weeks with the humidity around 30 to 40?

That last question was geared toward @dbrn32

I think that is a stretch. The most convincing study i have seen was a 5% increase in thc content, which is like going from 20% thc to 21% thc. But similar studies didn’t show any increase at all.

You are open to try whatever you think is in your best interest. I always try to keep my lights on temp 80ish and rh in line with vpd chart, which is quite a bit higher than that. Once plant is harvested, then i try to keep in cooler temps.

@dbrn32 do you think purchasing a 2 foot UVB light for supplimental UVB for 94 dollars from California Light Works is how you say? A waste of money?

I don’t know how much research you’ve done on uvb lighting or experienced the effects but does it really increase the terpenes and trichomes A substantial amount?

In addition from the measly 1% increase in THC The resins terpenes and trichomes are what I’m really trying to get out of it.

Any thoughts?

There are people that think it makes big enough difference. As far as being worth the money, I would make sure you have good par density first, then maybe work on stuff like that.
