Tent temperature compared to room temperature

Using LED lighting, how does your guys inside tent temperature run compared to the room temperature that your tent is in? My room temp is around 84.5, so I’m hoping with a in-take and exhaust fan my tent temp will be somewhat lower.
I know everyone’s situation is different, but wondering if you guys think I will have a heat problem. I would like to find out for myself, but the delivery date of my tent keeps getting pushed back.

10 degrees increase, no intake

Ouch! I was hoping to hear the tent would be cooler, not higher.

i don’t use LEDs but do suffer with god awful temp issues… so use Co2 to allow me to run at higher temps during the spring/summer months… you can run happily then at 85-90f and if you hit 100s which i have then in the uk with have this stuff called voodoo ice and voodoo heat great for heat stress and cold stress, don’t get me wrong once you hit lower 90s to mid 90s even with both tricks yields will suffer slightly but the plants survive

although an oversized exhaust fan with a decent intake fan will help somewhat but with the outside room temp maybe a small air-con unit in the room running to cool the room down therefore helping to keep the tent cooler
i know its slightly off topic but it is relating to heat issues and how to cope with them

Hoggy pretty good with LEDs too @Hogmaster any ideas?

My tent tents to stay between 5-10 degrees warmer then my grow room temperature
I try to maintain around 75 max room temp to keep tents no warmer than 85 max at exhaust but below canopy it’s 75
Just a FYI when you take you temp readings you want to be below canopy around pot level that will give you a better idea soil and root temp this area is more important than above canopy or lights :+1:
I also use a intake fan that forces fresh air under canopy @75 degrees I have Ac available but since I’m in a basement I mostly use my dehumidifier that maintains 55% or less humidity and my base stays around 78 may 80 in in hottest weather which is when I’ll run Ac instead
Hope this helps @Rugar89

Thanks for the response’s.
Thought I had everything ordered figured out. Guess I was wrong. Humidity is staying around 58%, but this temperature thing is looking like its going to be a problem for me. I may have to wait until summer is over to start this grow. :rage:
UPS shows my tent is out for delivery today. Hope the fans are on the same truck. Will get everything up and running over the next few days and see what tempts I’m going to have to deal with.

LOL! Your running lights in enclosed environment dude, they all produce some heat. Intake should really help if it’s nice cool air from outside or a colder room of imagine, but yeah… it’s going to be a pain in the cashews. I’d highly highly advise going for a phat A.C. asap, wish I did at the start.

What’re you setting up the tent again brother?

Never fear Mclovins here.

The chill is what you want, they make it for tones of brands so Google ‘your brand’ chill or ice or cold nutrient and it will pop up. GL

You can also look up diy air conditioner on YouTube out of a 5 gallon bucket and just pipe the air into the bottom of your tent… the ones I’ve seen might add a little humidity , but it might help you out with your temps and you probably have all the stuff to build one…

Setting it up in the den. Its a add-on room in the back of the house, so it has no cooling ducts in it. Its a old house and we don’t have AC, just a swamp cooler.

Was looking on Craig’s List and there are a few used portable AC units on there for around $150.00, I may have to go that route. Just putting one in the room and blowing toward the intake duct might be the answer.

Using MH and HP and to battle heat in South we installed a 6" duct fan to blow in at bottom and a 110 a/c in room set at 69°. Tent max temp 79°. Also their morning begins at 7pm and off @ 1pm due to heat. Can’t wait till I can switch to 12/12. Hope this helps

The portables aren’t cheap at all brother can’t get a reg window unit any where close to that room ?

I could do a window unit but would have to do a little construction to make it work. A portable would be much easier. Waiting to see if I get a response back on this one. Looks like a killer deal.
