After my last grow, and me running out of room and having to deal with crawling under the plants to water, trim, etc, I’m switching to a 5x10 (which I already have). I ran 2 Quantum V2’s for veg, and a 3rd for flower in my 5x5. Will an additional Quantum be sufficient for a 5x10? 4 plants max, so 1 quantum per plant. Thanks!
Which quantum v2’s? I’m guessing the 260 if I was shooting from the hip.

If budget were no thing I’d double it 6 and add a 550v2 In the center. Holy crap that would do it! But if budget IS a thing I’d just start at one side of the tent and add as I had the cash. I would think 7 is a lucky number.

To keep light density levels up on a 5x10 it would be six 260xl kits. If you’re not using entire space you could get away with less.

Thanks for the replies. That’s what my uneducated guess was. I think I’ll section off part of the 5x10, order one more kit, and see how it goes… I dont need all of that space with 4 plants, but I need more room than a 5x5 if I’m gonna grow them as big as I did this time around. My yields were so good, I dont want go backwards and keep them small lol.

Sounds like a plan. I wouldn’t really consider growing small plants going backwards though if need be. There are a lot of very good growers that grow small plants on purpose, they just grow more plants to fill their space. In most cases it cuts down on veg time and can lead to more harvests per year. I would say that whatever you’re comfortable doing Is fine, there are lots of ways to be successful.

I’m for sure keeping it at 4, and my plan was to veg them shorter so I wouldn’t have the space issue. But, when I got a pound off of 1 plant, (which I never expected) I have changed my thinking. Give them a little more space, keep it at 4, and try to duplicate that. We shall see!
Correction, the tent is a 4x8, not a 5x10. All switched over. I’ve got all 3 Quantums running now, I’ll order a 4th and possibly a 5th for flower?
4 will do fine in a 4x8. I have 4 in my 4x8 and 2 each in the 4x4’s.

I agree, 4 260xl kits pretty solid in a 4x8.

They have a new rspec leds, I have the 3000k general purpose. Would I benefit from the rspec?
Some, but probably not enough to replace working lights.
