How high do i put the lights from the plants?

Your target PPFD is:

300: seedlings
600: veg
900 flowering

What should the Relative Humidity be between?

Veg >50%
Flowering < 50%

What should the temperature be?

70 to 85

Where do i aim the circulation fan at?

At the plant’s canopy

How powerful should the filter fan be running?

The more airflow the better.

You may want to treat the soil and or the plants for pests in some way.

I am sorry I don’t have more specific information… My wife brings regular plants in from outdoor in late fall… Things aren’t too bad… But I wouldn’t put them near my grow.

How do i test PPFD? Is there any diagrams i can go off of to convert that into inches above the tops of the canopies?

Get a phone app named Photone.

Yes, i installed that app a few days ago. I forgot about that. So i just hold my phone under the lights then?

Correct. Read the PPFD and then adjust the light as needed to achieve the proper PPFD at the height of the plant’s canopy. Photone uses your phone’s camera to estimate your PPFD. The app is fairly accurate.

Alright, so i hold my phone level with to top of the plant with the highest canopy and take the reading. I have them at all different hights. I am cramming 6 plants into a 4×4 tent and i have one at 15 inches and one a 8 inches and 4 at 5 inches. Is this goi g to matter or should i boost the shorter ones with a platform to make all the canopys the same height?
@MidwestGuy
Thanks

I would do that to maintain an even distribution of PPFD among the plants.

Great! I have bricks ill boost them up with.
Thank you. I was told to keep the lights at half power for the first day?
@MidwestGuy

To achieve what?

I dont know. Thats what i was told to, just keep them at half power? So, i guess just set them to the PPFD that is called for?

Keep them at the appropriate PPFD for the plant’s stage of life.

I have no idea why someone might suggest that. A plant is perfectly capable of handing the proper PPFD level for its age.

Thats what i thought. This is why i mentioned this. I would think that after growing outdoors in direct sunlight for over a month would constitute all the light it can get when bringing them inside…

@MidwestGuy @Growmoredank

Thank you for the help so far. I have it all together and 4 of my plants are in the tent. I have them on perches so they’re closer to the lights. I used the Photon app, or whatever it’s called and its reading 675 for the PPFD.
Are they going to grow as fast as they were outside? And as healthy? Or am i headed for all kinds of issues now?

Looking good…

How’s your environment… Temps and humidity(vpd)?

Temps about 82, humidity about 67%… Assuming a 80f leaf temp(taken with Lazer temp gun).

Yeah, the guys talked me into getting the ACinfinity cloudline T69 Pro series so i have everything on automatic, well, ateast i hope i progamed it right but, its supposed to regulate everything with the intensity of the air being filtered out of the tent to keep it at the parameters i programed into it. I am learning as i go… this is all completely new to me. Although i am certified in Asbestos Abatement. I used to set up the containment areas to create negative air to hold the asbestos fibers in while we removed it. So im a little aquainted with this idea here. I dropped my light while i was trying to hang it by myself and it sliced the bottom of the tent trough both the catch bottom and the very bottom. The light still works but i have that hole in the bottom now. I used some liquid flex seal and duct tape for now. Im just glad the light is okay. I hope i didn’t stress any components and shorten thier life. What do you think?

My relative humidity is about 52% i guess after i water them tomorrow, it will bring the humidity up 10% or so…?

Humidifier… I just ordered the AC Infinity humidifier, as my other cool mist humidifier was not reliable.

For humidity… I use inkbird humidity controller… A humidifier on one work plug a inline fan blowing in drier air on the other.
I think I’ll have to make a few adjustments with the new humidifier.
