Hello to all ,
I have a problem and i guess its a good problem if that makes sense…my girls are in flowering stage now and they have put on some weight the buds have become too heavy for the limbs to support making the limb sag and droop. The limbs grew too fast and too long and no girth. When we have a good heavy rain with a little bit of wind the limbs crack and break . We had 1 storm that took the whole main trunk and twisted it in 2 …any way my question is what can i do for support??? I have got some bamboo sticks and wired them to the bamboo poles and the only problem with this is when another storm comes and the wind is strong the limb that is tied to the bamboo will get pulled on and cause more damage. I have also used hemp string to tie the broken or sagging limb to its neighbor and this just puts all the weight on the other limb and does not fix the problem. This being my 1st grow and it being outdoors i didnt get the proper setup like a tomatoe cage , the proper soil , nutes …i could go on and on but …I know there has to be a fix for this as it seems to be a common problem but i can not find anything in this can anyone help???
Broomsticks? I don’t know how large your plant is. You can probably find wood or fiberglass rods that should hold them up in rough weather.
@MidwestGuy yeah thats a good idea …should i tie every branch to a broom stick ??? My fear of tying the branches to something solid like the broom stick may support the limb but do more damage like pull the limb off of the trunk…i will post some pictures this evening when i get off of work and it will give u a better idea of y i am so freaked out about rain storms and wind …i just had a storm tear up 2 of the 3 plants i have and a 2nd storm almost took out my 3rd
these are also great to have a round for issues like heavy buds ![]()
Yo-yo’s work good so do bamboo sticks
Buy some bamboo stakes, tomato cage, or get some chicken wire and weave stakes in and tie it up so you can make a door for easy access. That way your covered all the way around in case something else sags
