Super Silver Haze not growing properly-advice needed

From a fellow grower: Having issues with Super Silver Haze. and autoflowers.

2 parts clean sand…4 parts fox farms happy frog…2 parts coconut coir…wth tiny bit of green sand mixed in…decent mix…for started plants don’t really fertilize at all…save the feetizilng for when transfer to buckets…indoor grow cabinet so basically light and temperature control…though moisture level not exactly uniform…but problem is…seeds .3/4 will break seed…1/4 won’t with paper towel method…the ones actually get planted…few actually sprout…the feminized silver Haze…got 9 out of 29…so best results…but the autoflower struggle…7 girl scout cookies…about 7 each of the 2 gelato orders…super skunk was a disaster…I’ve only managed to get 3 to sprout…I’m doing what I can on my end not to have many problems…just wondering if seeds might be somehow inbred to point of not being very visible(weak)

How much are you watering the sprouts? How wet is the soil when you put the seed in?

Same question as @MidwestGuy and the temps and RH need to come up considerably. 78-85/65-75% :love_you_gesture:

Raise your temps and humidity. Dome the sprouts once they emerge. Make sure to premoisten soil before transplanting seed to soil. When germinating, 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts water. Soak for 8 hours then plant directly into soil about a quarter inch deep. 24 hours lights on. You want temps 80°F - 85°F and humidity around 80 as well. Once sprouts emerge, spray inside of dome only. Seedlings get watwr from the air, not the soil. When soil dries, water a few mLs around the base of the plant.

I basically drown it for 2 days…like I do all seedlings to work out any air pockets around seeds

Seedlings hate wet soil. All they have is a tap root and it is easy to overwhelm a seedling with too much water. Roots need oxygen and it is very difficult for a seedling to extract oxygen from the soil if the soil is wet all the time.

The best method for seeing that a seedling has what it needs without risking root rot is to instead use a dome and to not water the soil at all. Use a clear Solo cup or a cut pop bottle and spray inside of the dome a couple of times each day. The plant can get all of the water it needs via the leaves from the humidity in the dome. Start watering a few ml a day when the plant outgrows the dome.

Cannabis will withstand dry soil far better than it can withstand chronically wet soil.
