Sunflower Lecithin

Ive been reading up on the benefits of lecithin, not only on health, but on the bodys ability to aid in the intake of mj edibles. However, some of the recipes i want to use dont mention it, so im wondering if theres some standard dosage i can use while making cannabutter?

Also curious on how much of an effect it has on the final product, effects wise?

I know someone had mentioned using lethicin before, but i cant remember who… @Covertgrower @oldmarine @1HappyPappy @beardless are any of you familiar with the additive, or know of someone who might be?

Im also reading conflicting info about edibles having shorter durational effect because the lethicin increases the bioavailability, which makes it more potent, but processes through your system faster.

Have any of you guys read up on the health effects, such as lowering cholesterol, improved artery function, better memory ability, etc? Its pretty cool stuff.

I am absolutely fascinated with edibles. I have bought an induction burner, a crockpot, toaster oven, molds, and other stuff…im about to go ham with the magic food :joy:

Side note: while i have the attention of some gurus…have any of you found its better to freeze trim either pre/post drying? Im wondering if its harder to keep trim fresh, just based on how leaves tend to get so brittle when dry. I figure if im going to be experimenting with lots of cooking i should use every available resource the plant offers.

You’re correct.

As far as trim goes, I just dry it out.

Ahh was hoping that was wrong. Read a bunch of articles and only one mentioned that it made duration shorter. Convenient thought…can make edibles that hit you different. Could really come in handy actually. Think im gonna have to spend the rest of my life experimenting with this stuff i.e. Heaven

@Nicky has talked about this before. he recommends infusing avocado oil instead of coconut oil because it’s healthier and the lechitin/me uptake thing. next time i infuse i will be trying avocado oil

Coconut oil works great. I don’t worry about the cholesterol. It’s a plant fat, still better than animal fats.

The science is unclear, it’s 90% saturated fat but a medium chain unlike animal fats which are.

If it has the end result, ultimately fused with cannabis, and it works. That’s all I need.

Are you saying to use avocado oil instead of lecithin or with it?

Lecithin is added to the oil mix.

Lecithin can act as an emulsifier, if trying to mix concentrate oils with water i.e jello-gummies.
Yes, its allegedly healthy for the Liver too
