I have these 2 blue dream autos. Last harvest went well. So I started 2 more and they germinated super fast so I got them in the ground they popped 2 days later…20 days later here we are. I raised my temp in the tent herd 70 degrees was to cold and humidity was real really low so fixed that problem too but in the process of fixing and tweaking my concoction I think I stunted my 2 plants. Question is at almost 3 weeks being so close to flower is it gonna be worth it, will they jump back or just restart?
That’s a tough call. I thought about it for a few minutes, and I came up with reasons to scrap them and also reasons to stick it out and see if you can kick them into gear. So I’m afraid I’m going to have to leave that to you, but I’ll offer a bit of advice to try to prevent this on your next grow. I know you’ve probably read not to transplant autos, but that’s absolute hogwash. For autos, getting off to a great start means everything, and it’s always more difficult to get a seedling going good in a big pot than it is in a solo cup. I used to struggle to get consistently big autos, and then I started transplanting them. They do awesome in solo cups, and I usually transplant them into 5 gallon fabric pots around 15 or 16 days above ground. I have no trouble raising monsters now. It makes a huge difference!
How big are the containers? Maybe they are still root building?
They are in the little pete pot. Inside a 5 gallon fabric pot. It worked fine last ti.e I dunno think I will try solo cup then transplant.
It seems like for some reason the roots couldn’t get through the those Peat pots.
Good luck. The fact that they are autos makes it difficult to know what the right decision is. Can you still pull the peat pots? If so, maybe cut it open like a banana and remove the pot.
Yea I dug into it and felt the pete pot its like breaking up but those were my last ones im going to solo cup transplant them. Its just as easy fr.
I’d remove the peat pot, and skip the solo, and go back into the bag.
Yea it breaks apart soon as I rubbed it so they can definitely get thru it now. I was think the leaf surface temp was to low thats what stunted them but im new so idk im germing 2 more gonna start in solo cups and see what happens
So if you’re going to start new ones, here’s some pics of how I do it.
I use a lighter to melt 4 small holes for drainage. It drains best if you make the holes along the bottom seam of the cup, rather than on the flat part of the bottom.
These are my last batch of auto seedlings at 10 days above ground.
This is them on transplant day, 16 days above ground.
This is the best way to transplant out of solo cups, I learned it from other growers here in the forum. Peel the cup, and be as gentle as possible getting them into the new pots. Don’t squeeze the cups, or turn them to get the rootballs out. And use another solo cup to make the exact size hole you need in the new pot.
And this is 7 days after the transplants.
I would say there establishing a root system
Ima keep em see what they do last 2 I had started flowering at 5 weeks
They look like they’re hungry for Nitrogen. Coco or soil, either way looks dry. Can you tell me a little about the medium, watering routine and nutrients? ![]()
I use ffof no nutes just water once a day. Its got really really dry in there thats what I thought caused them to stunt but they growing now.
That’s a great soil medium and good for week 5ish with water only. Light/lime green other than new growth can be a sign of N deficiency. Sure that’s not the case?? I run mainly autos and don’t count the 1st 10-12 days after ground breaking. I consider that the seedling stage. I start HST/LST when I see 4-5 nodes and top back to the 3rd or 4th. This typically gives them a week to recover and usually start pre-flower. It’s daily LST from that point. They look to be around the 3rd-4th node. I would say you have about 2 weeks for training and preflower. What nutrients will you be using? ![]()
Yea I ment on the new grow. Im not going to take them out and put them in solo cup. My next grow im skipping Pete and gonna do solo and 1 transplant into forever home…try it that way
Im gonna use the ff trio…prolly start about week 6ish on nutes. They just seem awfully small
Could be genetic, I’ve had them from the same batch grow totally different. Word of caution on the FF trio if you’ve never used it. I switched a couple of grows ago to Jacks 321. The FF trio need to be flushed out very 30!days or so, notorious for salt/mineral build up in the root zone and that can lead to lock out preventing nutrient intake.
Cheers to continued success
Yea you know my last grow i only had 3 gallons of soil in these 5 gallon fabric pots. I never gave them any nutes at all because they never really showed any signs of needing anything so really I just kinda go by what they tell me they want. I dont use any nutes till I see they need it. This time the pots got topped off completely with 5 gallons of soil each so I was hoping to get a bigger result cause I only got 39 grams off of each roughly. Here a pic of what grew in 3 gallons of ffof no nutes just ph water. 10 weeks exactly for it to have the right color trichomes.
I herd alot of good things about jacks 321. But if I do have to use ff trio im only gonna do half dosage and just have to flush her out.
