Sticky + Aptly Growmie Grow - Chicken n Wafflez

@Growdoc
Overnight, noticed some Mg patches showing up about 4 nodes from the top. Affected about 6 leaves, most of which were on mains.

Is this normal early-mid flower Mg redistribution or may I need another bump? Only happening on 1 plant. Runoff is 1.8, 6.3. PPFD is 900

Everything else looks great

That’s Ca def.

Yes. Demands for Ca begin day 18 and Mg day 22 of flowering.

How should I adjust or will it self correct?

Up the calmag dose. Double it till wk5 when demands start lowering again.

@Budbrother has a good eye, I didn’t see the calcium until I zoomed in good. They do have an increased need when the lights flip. I’d give it a cal mag shot going from your numbers.

This is the second time this plant has had this type of issue. The other is fine. Does that mean the pheno on the left is a little calmag hog?

3 Likes

Possibly. They all need a bit more in flower stages.

@Budbrother and @Growdoc I’ve got a few leaves with light edges over here. Think this is also ca deficiency or does it look more like N?

Here’s the full canopy for comparison.

That pic of the lower leaf shows Mg

@Budbrother got you covered here!

Well I think it makes a lot of sense 2/3 seeds saw Mg issues at the exact same time. Must just be a bit of a Mg hog. Plus all the training didn’t help.

The third will be right behind. Mg def shows up 2 wks after it’s initially lacking.

@Budbrother thoughts on these purple markings at leaf edges? Also mg related?

That almost looks like Mg lockout with a little P stress. This is when your runoff numbers get a little worrisome. You might need to a blast a 1.3 corrective feed with an extra 0.3g/ Epsom/gallon. Run that off until EC comes down to like 2.2

A foliar Mg spray at 0.5g/gallon right before lights off would help diagnose. Spray the undersides of affected leaves, avoid buds. If color starts improving or stop spreading within a day that would confirm Mg uptake.

It could be natural anthocyanin expression, but the yellowing around combined with location mid canopy makes me think Mg.

Looks like natural anthocyanin color change.

Bump of Epsom fixed everything up. Both looking like super similar phenos so far
