Hello! I’m looking to start my first grow in a tent that’s 36’x20’x63. I’ll be growing at most two plants at a time, and will be staying away from some of the more aromatic strains that are out there. I’m looking at an ac infinity fan with a cfm of 205 and thinking about getting a can filter, but i’m having problems finding a filter that has a rating lower than the fan. Once I manage that, though, would the T4 be enough? I can’t have any smell at all, already looking into Onagel and a few other things, but I know that the filter is an important part of that.
Also, the T4 comes with temp and humidity control. Is that necessary in a home with central air or do I need to spend the extra money?
Get the 6 inch I have the cloudline 6 inch. Had people early on tell me to go 6 instead of 4. Very happy with mine I thought dont have the controller for it. I’m completely stealth in my area. Any other questions. Feel free to ask I also did a first grow log under my username. I have a pothead living in the room beside my grow has no idea smell etc.
Activated carbon filters work well. You need to control the air flow into and out of your tent, keep the door closed, put tape on tent rips, and make sure the air input vent is large enough. Use a speed control fan.
Most strains don’t have strong smell until the last 4 weeks of flower cycle.
I used a 6” max fan and can filter in a 2x4 tent my first grow. My buddy who smokes a lot didnt ever know i was growing and he came over a lot.
Thanks for the response and I’ll definitely check out your log.
I think you need a filter that will handle the CFM of the fan, so equal or larger , right? thinking if you get one smaller it won’t last long and the cheap ones don’t last either. Welcome to this fine group of farmers !
You definetly want negative air pressure.
That means it pulls the tent sides a bit. This is also what hospitals use. Put you fan and filter in the tent venting out from in. If you’re going for stealth get the cloudline fan. It’s super quiet and works well also easier on power.
I’ve come across so many opinions on the cfm of the fans and filters that it’s mind boggling. That comment was from a few things a read that said that if the cfm of the filter was too far past the fan that the fan wouldn’t have the power to push through it. Or perhaps the cfm of the filter just shows what it can take? So much info!
I’ll do all that, thanks!
Just look at my log I bought a filter that’s probably way too big but… it still works I wouldn’t do the t4 fan I’d go t6 as long as your tent allows it.
How could I find your log? I’m going to the grow journals, but nothing is coming up when I put in your name.
These are by far the best on the market you just have to buy a filter they are super quiet For your space I would talk with these fine people about a quantum board for your lights and if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask to kind a like fight club you don’t talk about it that’s how you stay stealth
Also try a strain like northern lights or lowryder. They don’t have a strong off putting smell.
First welcome to the community I do suggest going with a 6in and also get the variable speed adapter for your 6 inch fan you can run the 6-inch at a lower speed which will be much quieter The 6in will give you more filter capacity to control your exhaust odor. Good luck
