Sour D, 6 weeks of flower. Whatcha think?

Hey everybody! Apologies in advance for the noob harvest question, but I’m just was hoping someone with more experience than me would weigh in on the progress of this plant.
I’ve read the guides and checked the pictures (clear, milky, couchlock amber), but as far as timelines are concerned, where do you think this thing is at harvest-wise? A week out? Two? Three? I see white pistils continuing to sprout on the main cola, so I’m guessing it’s not gonna be time for a little while. Lower buds are mostly milky, mostly white pistils.

It started flowering on August 1st, so it’s only on day 47 (of projected 70 day flower cycle). Does this thing look like it’s still 3 weeks out from being ripe? Should I expect it to fill out/fatten up some more?

Also I see the surrounding bud leaves have a lot of beat up, degraded, amber trichomes- which is probably from the aggressive handling the plants went though while hunting cabbage looper worms. Thankfully they’re under control now, but there is definitely some signs of battle on the plants.

When a plant have been through out stressing evenment like your’s has been through, it’s normal that they “age” a little faster…

It will have a hormonal respond trigger’s and will produce at a faster rate pistils and trichomes… Mainly to protect and defend her self…

So, it most probably will not have another 3 weeks before she’s gone a be ready for harvesting…

You can harvest on 2 wave… if you see a big difference in buds trichomes cloudy/amber proportions…And yes, she will “fatten” up a little more :grinning:

Hoping that’s helping you @Trav

Thank you, that does help and confirms my suspicion that the plant has matured a bit faster than what would normally be expected.

I really have learned a lot in this first attempt at growing. Thank you for helping me!

I’m growing SD fem in Santa Barbara county and flipped on 8/5 so am pretty close. A couple of things: there is an interval up to 2 weeks after going to 12/12 where you don’t count as flower. Mine only took 1 week so that’s what I counted, putting me in the sixth week this week. That means you could add 7 to 14 days to your (approximate) maturation date.
Now is the time for flowering nutrients and for the plant to develop fully, flowering nutes have to continue but don’t forget some N. The last two weeks of flower will see buds almost double in mass so you definitely don’t want to harvest early. If you haven’t yet, buy a scope that gives you 60 to 100 X magnification so you can see the trichomes. If it’s easier, clip samples rather than viewing on the plant.

FYI, I am already having to provide bracing support for my buds as the branches are sagging. @Trav.
