Some new leaf discoloration

Yup, its actually been calibrated twice. Once when i got it like 2 weeks ago (yeah im late to testing my girls runoff) and again after the crazy readings yesterday. but it was saying 6.86 and 6.87 for the 6.86 solution even before i calibrated yesterday so i dont think it needed it.

Just try to get that runoff oh up and keep feeding.

They have actually never been fed except what the foxfarm soil had to offer. Ive been a lil unsure about when to start feeding. I thought the ppm was supposed to be somewhat of a guide. When i finish watering all my girls have 800-1000 ppm but when i start they all test at 1100-1500. A few of them have a tiny bit of yellow or brown on a few tips but mostly nice green leaves.

This is the most recent pic, they are sleeping now or id get a better leaf picture.

Ocean forest out of the bag comes with about 4,000-5,000 ppm of organic fertilizer.
You may have runoff of 1,000 but we don’t know how much of each or if it’s balanced, only 10 ppm of that could be potassium?
I would dose 800-1000 ppm at a ph of 6.8, the nutrients will also help stabilize the mediums ph.

What nutes do you have?

I have been worrying they might be missing specific things. Especially when i constantly see people talking about adding calmag so much. I have advanced nutrients grow micro bloom set. Ive gotten the idea from people recently that advanced nutrients is a lil money grubby with their crazy amount of slightly different products and they are overhyped but they are what i have for now. They have a guide on their site for using it with soil.

AN is a great product!! They are probably the oldest company making cannabis nutes openly, they have YEARS of R&D into their products and I’m sure some of that plays a roll in the pricing, I feel they have paved the way for many nutrients companies.

DEFINITELY give them a feeding with that.

Wonderful! Ill do that. Im actually really excited to see if the ā€œph perfectā€ part of these nutes works. They claim it will control the ph of your soil and as long the water youre adding is good, you wont have to worry about ph again. Im still going to test it to see of course. Ty so much for all your help!!

One last question. I just watered them to runoff last night. Would you feed them today or wait until next watering?

It’s more setup for coco and hydro, the ph will probably fall in the 5.7 range.

Before you ph the AN nutes let get someone’s that’s used their new ph perfect line… let me see if I can remember who does.

@Cap_Ron how do you recommend AN in soil.

The pH perfect base nutrients will vary quite a bit depending on the water you’re starting with.

If you’re using a pure water like R/O, distilled, or rain, the pH of your finished solution might be as low as 5.5 to 5.8. If you have tap water with a high pH to begin with, your solution will be closer to 6.0 - 6.4.

Either way, AN suggests that you do not use pH up or down products to adjust your solution. The point of the pH perfect nutrients is not for the solution to fall at a specific pH, but that your plants will be able to uptake the nutrients anywhere in the range of where your solution sits. So basically, the very common charts/graphs that show each individual micro and macro nutrients, and which pH levels they can and cannot be absorbed in, can be ignored by AN pH perfect users.

Like I said, with pure water the final solution can be as low as 5.5. When I’m growing in coco, I use it as is, but when I’m in soil, I’m not comfortable with that even though AN says it’s ok, but I also don’t want to use pH up or down products, so I found a good way around that. For my grows in soil, I put between 3/4 to a full gallon of my tap water in a 5 gallon jug. Then fill it the rest of the way with R/O water. The little bit of tap water serves as a nice buffer, and when I’m done mixing the nutrients, the pH of the finished solution sits between 5.7 and 5.9. That would normally still be a little low for soil, but not with the pH perfect nutrients.

I got these numbers down a long time ago. I barely even look at the pH of my solution these days, and the only time I would ever look at my runoff pH is if there was a problem. Advanced Nutrients is expensive, and if you want to use the full line of products it’s a small fortune, but they’re not all necessary.

Here’s a link to my current grow journal. Post number 206 in the journal lists every single product I use.

This was my exact worry, trying to effect the ph causing more problems messing with the products chemistry.

Thanks a ton!

I havent used nutrients yet but when i do in a couple days i wont mess with the ph. Im using tap water and the ph is always mid 6. Ty for the info!
