Some new leaf discoloration

My girls have been doing pretty good lately.

Overall they still seem ok but now im starting to get some yellowing spots on some of their leaves.

The two on the right got transplanted first and are in ocean forest and the rest are in a combo of happy frog and ocean forest. The little two have been in there about 2 weeks and the rest about a month or a little over. None of them have had any nutrients added. I read its normal for the very bottom leaves to die off over time but any ideas on why some of the others are going yellow?

Your plants look healthy. No reason to worry about a few blemishes here and there.

I wouldn’t worry about it unless it gets worse.

I agree, I have two photos going and they are doing that as well. Trim off the bad ones and keep on keeping on. Looking good!!

Do you water to runoff? May have some ph issues from the nutrients breaking down in the soil. Also alot of people think the ocean forest is good for 6 weeks. But i start feeding at one month max, and they all needed it to. Tds runoff would tell you if they need nutrients

I do agree they do look good and healthy, let me ask a couple questions, what soil? Are you feeding yet? If so what nutes? It’s not uncommon for a plant to start to shed its weaker “solar panels” to utilize the better ones.

Edit, sorry just saw you have not fed them. Might be time to start feeding slowing with proper ph.

@Scarlet86 G’day mate looking nice an green otherwise claw leaf means to much nitrogen, only affecting afew but i would check ya nutes again an check ya ph most importantly.not sure if soil or coco but yeah curled leaves is over fed with base nutes, have learnt the hard way too, otherwise man looking awesome.and also is only a few leaves relax she be right mate the rest of the plant looks great.once they get bigger it will not be a prob. do not worry about a few curled leaves unless you want perfection lol rock on mate lookin awesome

Its still fairly contained but it just slowly gets worse. (I still need to clip the yellow leaves off, planning to get to that today) my littlest 2 dont have any of the discoloring on them and they were the most recently transplanted. Im thinking maybe this is because their soil still has food in it whereas the others have run out?

Check your pH, it should be between 6.3 & 6.8.
Check PPM numbers also. A good PPM is 1000. They dont look hungry but there could still be a deficiency or toxicity depending on what the run off says, you might need to make corrections.
They look great otherwise. You could try some Cal Mag also.

In the past 24 hours some of the leaves on one plant have developed some small brown spots. Any thoughts?

If I had to guess I would say runoff ph is low and it’s time to feed.

@Autos-only I watered last night and ph was low, 5.5 and ppm was high 1100

1100 is acceptable 5.5 is very low.

When i finished with her her ph was 6.4 and ppm was a lil over 900. Its weird, i chevk the ph of my water and its always low to mid 6, but somehow one of my very healthy looking plants had water runoff with a ph of 1.9!! I fixed that of course but i dont understand how it happened

And on the flipside i had another one with a ph of almost 9. They were all over the place.

I think you got a miss reading of 1.9. She would surly be dead.

Peat based soils become acidic overtime.
Keep feeding in with a ph of 6.5-6.8

That miss reading alone makes me question the reliability of the readings you are seeing.

I hope ot was a misreading! The meter responded just like it did when i dipped it in water with too much ph down in it. But i added a lil bit of water with the ph up and then just some regular water and let her sit a lil bit and she tested ok

I guess i dont know how to say for sure if its right. It gets the right answer when tested in the calibration solution but beyond that i dont know how to test it.

As long as you calibrated it and it’s showing correct numbers I think you’re good.
