Some leaves look slightly wrinkly and serrated edges turned up

I screwed something up somewhere, I have GCP and Purple Heart from sunken treasure seeds - they’re labeled properly in the bags but only cuz I bagged em wrong. Not sure if I screwed up at the seed phase or somewhere in the transplanting. :joy:

Bahahaha at least it worked out to correct itself :joy:

If one turns out to be a photo, all it’s clones would be photos too right?

The altitude def might be a factor, that and my procrastination leading to a 60+ day veg period lol,
The two less crappy of the mystery strain I just harvested dried to 7oz and 5oz

Ahaha I definitely felt like an idiot in the last shop I walked into when he asked me what strain lol
And then at other times too but that was on me for not walking in prepared :grimacing:

Yep.

That sounds like right on track for most of mine :joy:

Start calling it Unknown Kush. Apparently that’s a legitimate strain Delicious Seeds sells and tbh I have zero idea how many others out there too.

Not bad at all. :100:

Bahaha gee I wonder how they came up with that name?

I did debate just making up a name, but I’d get caught since it’s already in the stupid biotrack system as “unknown” haha
But oh well, 12oz of average-ish quality wasn’t worth paying for/driving for testing by itself anyway

So if you don’t get it tested, you can’t sell it to a dispensary? So that becomes your personal smoke? Enter that in the system as “Product used for QA/proof of concept purposes”? You guys have some strange rules, but at least micro-growers ARE able to sell back into the system!

Yup exactly, it’s gotta be lab tested for a list of things like potency, pesticides/other chemicals, water content, bugs, foreign material like hair dust etc, or anyone trying to modify it like packing kief into it to increase the potency lol,
Yeah that’s the part I don’t like… so much crap to get wrong and then it would be a waste of an expensive test.
Ahaha I’m not even sure if I’m technically allowed to do that
I think I’d have to have it on the books as “destroyed” and basically deleted from the system in order to make it personal.

For that reason, about an ounce got accidentally dropped during trimming lol

Yeah they def don’t make the process easy, everything has to be perfect,.
But yeah at least it’s still possible, and if I don’t have to pay employees and just keep doing it by myself by slowly making it more automated every time I increase my grow size/numbers, there’s good potential for success. Just gotta keep my expenses down lol

And the Lord(or Lady) of earth henceforth sayeth unto the Synyster of Chris’s,
Let there be LIGHT!
And cannabis!
And let said cannabis be no less than 30% of any electric bill in the world!

Skywalkers showing absolutely no change, just vibrantly glowing under their new light and conditions,
GSCs kinda whiney maybe cuz I had to carry them under a garage door that can’t go all the way up and hit their lankyass branches on it and then on the shop and growroom doorways, oops😬
And just cuz they’re kinda little beezys and know damn straight I love them less than the SGKs :upside_down_face:

Particularly one, the lankiest with the most spindly tall branches. Had to wrap her with a cord cuz so many branches were leaning down.

Named her Bertrude Hobbleclump cuz she not such a pretty lady, needs a not so pretty name.
Praying there’s nobody in here named Bertrude Hobbleclump

Gonna borrow one of the 240s from the tent for a couple days cuz this is surely too much for the one light lol
My 2nd 480 is ordered and will be here this week

Bahaha that’s such a bittersweet feeling.
Like I’m glad for a potentially big yield, but the trimming…:persevere:
I just hope they have good genes and make nice tight buds that aren’t a larfy trimming nightmare.
The seeds were from one of the not so popular seed banks, got them before really investigating,.
Buuuut their genes on the wedding cake out in the greenhouse seem pretty good… frosty dense buds, so there’s hope lol

@dbrn32 I’m still way lost with this odd ppm issue. I did some research and it seems like the info online is that the EC only has one scale, just converting EC to ppm has the variable scales?

My pen reads in us/cm for the “EC”, online found that typical “EC” is Ms/CM, so my feed water reading of 2800 us/CM is 2.8 EC, which on the ppm mode reads 1400ppm

So unless I got something mixed up, it looks to me like my meter is on the Hanna scale?, And there’s really something up with my water since the 1400ppm bucket is at 80% strength; if I do normal jacks measurements it’s more like 1600-1800 O.o

Me, too. :joy:

You’ll probably get the hang of that. @Growingforothers uses a bowl trimmer with the blade removed for fast trimming. I use a TrimBag. It does a decent job and if you have the patience to trim it up afterward it’ll be pretty good for bag appeal too.

Or you can charge more and hand-manicure everything. Just make sure the dispensaries know it’s artisanal bud, not typical dehydrated crap.

Yes sir.

That sounds right. I think most US-marketed meters use either EC or the Hanna (500) scale.

I’ll have to look up both of those… definitely want bag appeal, and would love to cut down my trimming time of course lol
The last group, that 12oz dried mystery strain, I trimmed by hand prettymuch by myself and it was pretty lame since whatever strain+pheno those were kinda sucked and had a lot of loose leafy stuff, got to a point where anything smaller than my thumb just got thrown in the compost with the fan leaves😂

So the bowl and/or trim bag can make stuff just as pretty as hand trimming?

That’s something they do?!
I was kinda wondering,. The last shop I visited the guy had me smell his “top shelf sour diesel” and it really didn’t seem like anything special.
Maybe that’s why he seemed to try to value flower entirely by THC content with no other factors

My meter has two modes one for ec in us/CM and one for ppm, when the us/CM is 2800 the ppm is 1400

And that’s with weakened jacks O.o
So there’s gotta be something funky with my water beyond the 350ish ppm it starts at…

Probably binding the chemicals in the Jack’s in an unintended way

That and freeze drying bud, then run it thru a bud trimmer. They can dry and cure in a couple days that way. It really cuts down on their time from seed to sell, removes a ton of labour costs as well. And the buds stay compact.
Welcome to the big leagues!

If that’s the case would it be making them unavailable to my plants or more like something that mostly just effects the readings?

Oh geeze O.O
I sure hope that things like that reduce quality and value,
Cuz I sure as sheet ain’t doing that stuff lol

If it does cut down terpenes and such but makes bud more compact, it would explain why the couple jars I smelled at the last shop were on his higher shelves yet really just smelled like dead leaves; yet even small nugs did appear to be tight and dense…

They reduce quality but probably not value. People look at Thc percentage on the label. They want to get f**ked up and they think higher thc = a bigger, better high. I know that isn’t true. But not inexperienced recreational smokers. Honestly not even experienced potheads who have only ever known bs dispensary product.

That makes a lot of sense sadly. This last shop guy seemed like a STRONG businessman, like the kind of guy that gets the lowest prices then sells for the highest lol,
And he was marketing his stuff seemingly entirely on THC content, like that’s the only thing written on his jars and strain names had to be asked for lol

Hell I’m not even much of a pothead anymore but I know damn straight there’s other factors… I’d much rather smoke something with 15%thc and a load of great terpenes that was cured perfectly than smoke something with 30% that was baked or freeze dried or whatever lol

Luckily for me not all the shops are like that. The first I talked to went on and on about terps and the different compounds other than THC and CBD. so I have hope that I can find places like that with people who appreciate the other factors of quality.

Truly most of the locally owned and operated places shouldn’t be. The chains will be a lot more focused on pushing THC content for the most part. I think thankfully that’s a fad that is fading, slowly but surely, as live resin and terpene preservation come to the forefront.

The shop up the street from me is a small biz, truly, they seem to only do business with a handful of producers. The bud is almost always top notch, extra dank, and they don’t sell prepackaged BS. It comes in a mason jar with the UV protection and airtight seal - they’ll weigh it out to the exact hundredth of a gram right in front of you.

Me, I’d be visiting all the dispensaries and checking out their product lines. Are 80% of their products from the same company? Check out the companies they do promote, are they large corporations or are they small-time craft growers? Find 4 or 5 that do deal with connoisseur strains and the like, then you should be able to get a fair price from someone who will promote your brand as well.
Dealing with shops that are in the back pocket of the biggies isn’t a good place to start.

Any way to double check the scale you’re using to weigh nutrients, or did we already cover that?
