Ok I grow in 5gal fabric pots and I’m trying to find a way to not have to pull my pots every time I need to water my plants. So I can put the pot on wire racks and have the racks over pans to catch the run off but how do you remove all the runoff to test ppm and ph
I use a kitchen baster to suck up samples for pH and TDS testing. I use a small transfer pump to remove large quantities of water as needed and avoid leaving standing water. Standing water is an invitation to critters even though I have a good isolation from outdoors and have not had too many issues with critters other than fungus gnats (Cptn Jack’s).
@perry2 does that answer your question or did I miss the point? Happens sometimes LOL
You will notice that I can slide the tray out for cleaning as needed.
The PVC pipe is the base for the SCROG frames.
Kool idea @merlin44.
You hit it on the money what is the pvc used for ok you answered it I didn’t see it
The SCROG frames attach to the PVC pipe.
This photo sort of shows how it goes together
I only have room for four SCROG frames (of this size) so the other two in each grow are without frames. I use stakes to support the colas late in flower.
Wow that is great looks like I need to find a couple things this is what I was looking for
I am glad it gives you some ideas.
I actually added that part while you were replying LOL
Oh I see how you are lol
That is a good looking grow! Nice work!
Thanks @deke here is a photo of the same grow taken a few days ago (about 2 months since the photo above)
I built a 4 by 4 rack I put in the bottom of the tent I can slide a long handle frying pan underneath to catch run off. I also build me a couple stools if needed to keep canopy level.
Very nice @kellydans
Very nice I will definitely be making something like these
Those look fantastic
Wow killing it @merlin44 amazing produce you got there.
Wow! You have some skills my friend. Impressed!
Nice set up. Do you have any other pictures? I would like to build something similar. What size pan for a 5 gallon cloth pots and any ideas as to where to get them and the grates? This is one of the last issues I am working on to come up with my initial setup plan. I would greatly appreciate any advice or help that you could give me.
I don’t have any photos that are better than those that I posted, sorry. I am in the process of harvesting and one of the SCROGs will be available to photograph.
As far as the drip trays go, I purchased them at my local grow shop (that and soil is all that I purchase from them). For size, I grow in 10 gallon fabric pots so I use a drip tray that is for a 15 gallon nursery pot because it turns out to be perfect for my needs.
For other size pots (fabric and otherwise), measure the diameter of the pot and add about 4 inches. That is the size trip tray that I would recommend.
I used wire shelving material purchased at The Home Depot. My trays are 20" in diameter and I use 3/4" thick material to support the wire rack so I made the plywood base 22" square. The wire rack support pieces are 4" square because the trays are a little over 3" tall.
I will post some more photos a little latter.
