Can really see extent of damage they caused when wet.
Saw teeth getting pale. Found a lot of webbing on them. Damn those things are tiny.
Thanks again.
It’s been 6 days since I sprayed the girls.
They are not happy. All bud sites have browned and no signs of newer growth.
I believe the hydrogen peroxide solution was more than 3% even tho advertised as that. I also defoliated pretty hard as well to open things up and get rid of most affected leaves.
Just wondering if I’ve gone too far or will they come back around. On verge of starting over. Any thoughts @Sixpackdad,@MattyBear, @dbrn32.
It would mean a room gut and do over from scratch.
Peace all
I had a pretty bad mite, aphid, and gnat infestation over the summer. I brought outdoor plants inside to avoid bud rot in the fall, and brought the mites and aphids inside with it.
Your plants look better than mine did. I had dying branches and significant leaf dropping. One plant had to be cut down early, and i had to take of big branches on three others. I rode it out and, as I type this, I am smoking the buds from those plants
I think your plants will be fine and you should ride it out.
I seek the day when I harvest a problem free grow.
Thanks @Sixpackdad. I too would really enjoy a problem free grow as well. Had to deal with early frost on these girls mom and stunted bud growth. She didn’t get a proper flush due to weather so moms harvest is sub par. When these are finished the room will be re done to improve my set up. I did have a rodent problem early on in grow and thinking that may have contributed to mite issue as well as lack of air flow. I have since added 2 more fans / 1 more under screen and another oscillating to top.
It is a very steep learning curve to move indoor. I appreciate ur positive reinforcement as I’ve been in a bit of a down frame of mind since seeing the down turn In growth. Thanks again @Sixpackdad. Think I’m gonna go have a left twist to make me feel a lil better.
Peace my man.
I would also say they don’t look horrible considering. But you don’t really know what the next day is going to bring either. They’re tough little bastards to get rid of, but I think you would be ok if you can.
Are you in Canada or the US? In Canada, that mix has time released nutrients meant to feed for 9 months, while in the US it just contains starter nutes.
Don’t start over! They’re so far along & look pretty good, considering.
@blackthumbbetty. I am in Nova Scotia.
I’ve used this soil mix for last 4 years. I knew it had time release nutes for up to 9 months. I wasn’t aware before this that it was a soilless medium. I’m starting to get this part dialed in and it seems to be working better for me on last number of grows.
I haven’t given up on current grow just yet.
Just having a down day.
I still have hope that I can pull this off.
The change in such a short time was pretty sickening but we will persevere.
Thanks for the positive reinforcement and good luck with ur grow as well.
Peace
Just a lil update. After treatment with peroxide at 3% to deter the mites all the pistils on most buds turned brown and stopped growing. But with some much needed advice from @MattyBear and @peachfuzz an@dbrn32 I’ve still got growing plants and too u all I am truly thankful. Getting fatter and more Chrystal every day. Gonna have to tie up to support cause they’re starting to lay over.
Appearing a lil battered but doing better.
Just wondering about runoff ph being too low. Checked couple nites ago an lil one at 4.7 and tote at 5.0. Was watering at 5.8 as suggested but did a flus at 6.7.
After was at 5.1 for lil pot and 5.5 in tote.
What should be my target with this pro mix. Should it be higher or am I o/k ?
Thanks again all. Peace
@Sixpackdad. Just zoomed in on second pic and saw a web on top of middle one. Went in and treated again right away.
Mites are slowing their reappearance after the spray with peroxide mix but I think they are going to plague me till the end. Peace for now.
I’m with you man. I just a hand washed every leaf on my gold leafs as the first signs of white powdery mildew have shown up. I knew it was coming. They are in the room with the MWs which despite my attempts to curb the WPM are becoming overcome again. Big spraying of peroxide tonight.
Thanks @MattyBear. Appreciate the info.
How bout u @Myfriendis410. Do you have a method to get rid of spider mites. I’m 6 weeks in flower. Been using peroxide mix but fighting a losing battle. Was looking at some early pics of current grow and found them on my clones. They were taken from an outdoor mother and I think I brought them inside way back then.
If you can mechanically remove them with a shower head in the tub or with a hose in the yard that’s a good first step but not absolutely necessary. They are easy to dislodge so rinsing in a strong shower stream will knock them back for the next step.
Spray straight 3% peroxide on the plant including the soil and pot. Pay attention to the undersides of the leaves. Really dowse it down.
This is a bacteria benign to everything but pests like this. It’s even safe for organic grows and deep into flower. i’ve applied it within a week or so of harvest.
Strongly suggest a bud wash at harvest.
Leave the Captain Jack’s on for at least 5 days then repeat with the peroxide followed by the dead bug. You have to kill the adult vector and then hit it when any eggs hatch.
Unfortunately I’m in a scrog and can’t move the girls. I will try to pick up some dead bug if I can find. And I will definitely do a bud wash at harvest. I’m about 4 -5 weeks out from harvest I think If I can keep the lil buggers at bay long enough to finish flowering. At work now sorry for the delayed reply. Thanks much and peace.
Once you have them in all likelihood you will always have them. They aren’t a big deal unless you let then get on top of your grow. I treat on GP now because I had been hit before.
This is first time I’ve had indoor but only my 3rd grow inside. Had outside before but always seemed closer to end of harvest. My room is getting a complete redo and disinfect after this one is done.
