Slight lightening of fan tips. Time for a flush?

Aphids ? Maybe. Or mites ?

What do you ph your Promix HP at? I’m seeing a lot of conflicting info lately and it would be nice to have multiple people chime in on it. Thanks @Reticence

I had aphids and mites with my third grow over the summer. They can come in various colors. Is there any visible webbing? I see what could be some possible webbing between the saw-tooths on the leaves. Mites also leave little mite poop behind, which could be those black dots.
.
The aphids I had were light green in color and looked like tiny slugs/worms. Your picture also has what looks like these on there. When you look at them under the loupe you can see the wings and antenna. Aphids leave behind honeydew, which looks like droplets of water on the leave and buds.

I use a combination of water/peroxide (9:1) and then I unloaded ladybugs on them. They cleaned them right up. I currently have ladybugs in my grow now, as a preventative measure even though I think the likelihood of an infestation drops in the winter here in MA.

Quite the eye @peachfuzz has

@MattyBear. I found a few vids and all said 5.5-6.2 for pro mix so as per ur advice I dropped mine to 5.8 and will give at next watering. :v:

I have seen people recommend everything from 5.8 to 6.5 to something in between for promix. I recall @raustin uses promix.

Damn straight he does indeed. Thanks for catching that @peachfuzz. I really appreciate. Just hope it’s not too late to stop the lil basturds.

She does and we’ve had the discussion on the lab side about it. Everything points to 5.5-6.2, but people using FF nutes have found success going in like FF recommends, which is more like soil.

So is what I’m using more like soilless
then ?

If it’s a Promix product, then yes. It is considered soilless

I was under the mistaken assumption that it was a soil medium. And therein lies the ph finagle. I gotta stop smokin so much.
However thanks to yours and dads and peachfuzz’s intervention I will hopefully salvage this grow with a fairly decent return.
@Sixpackdad. I will do the peroxide and water at lites on. Can’t do now. Went out bout an hour ago but first on the list in morn.
How often do u treat ? Several times a day ? :v:

With this whole pH thing, I think what concerns me is that you have been watering at 6.5 pH, and the runoff is 5.0. If you start watering at 5.8, is that going to bring the pH up into the hydro range? It seems counter-intuitive.

What kind of nutes are you using, again?

For the bugs, I read that treating before lights out is best. I treated for a week until the lady’s came in the mail.

My plants were fairly devastated by the bug infestation but I still got a good return on the investment. I had a lot of leaf dropping and dying tips, webbing and honeydew everywhere… I also had root and gnat issues contributing to my woes at the time. But, once fixed, the flowers turned out fine.

@Sixpackdad. I’m using the GH grow
bloom and liquid Kool bloom. Also been adding some black strap but only last couple times.

Hydro range and soilless (Promix, coco, etc) medium range is the same and should be 5.5-6.2 with 5.8 as the number people usually target

@Oldguy That’s what I use for nutes too. Just switched to them so I’m just trying to dial everything in too. I’m Always learning :v::bear:

I always loved a good discussion. I’d kinda like to see where the other pro mix users get their best results and how many are using GH nutes with this medium.
Thanks again for ur tutelage.
A day without learning is another day wasted. Peace all. And many thanks. :v:

6.1 or 6.2 pH for the pro-mix.

The molasses is more then likely what brought the bugs… you really only want to use it as a tea every 3 to 5 weeks… I recommend 5 weeks if using molasses… and 2 tea spoons to a gallon …
Just my thoughts…
Sorry I was right… I hate bugs… except for the good ones…
