Just started to read about adding silica to the watering schedule. Never used the stuff but it sounds like something I should try. How do you use it?

Ive been using Rhino Skin almost since I started growing last year. I got turned onto it by one of the mods here.
I feed one TBS per gallon EVERY time I water with nutes or without. Makes the main stem and branches thick and strong to help support huge buds. Also works great for relieving heat stress on outdoor grows.

Thanks for the info. I think I remember seeing that one at the local hydro shop. I am using fox farms nutrient.
I’ve used silicate in both of my grows from sprout through mid to late flower. I use Grotek Pro silicate but may try the rhino skin as the brand I use was causing some clumping and sediment in my reservoir

FF Trio is what Ive always used with the Rhino Skin mixed right in.

I used it through veg and the first 2 weeks of flower this grow. I’ll take a pic of my GL stem today and you can be the judge if it works or not. I will never grow without it now!

I started using a silica addition in my schedule this grow. I think it’s doing well. I heard you should stop it around the 5th week in flower? Do you guys stop using it during the flower stage or do you use it all the way up until the last 2 weeks or your last flush? Thanks guys

I stopped using it after the stretch (basically once stem growth stopped). I used it up until week 3 of flower I think? I’d have to go look through my journal but that sounds about right… up to around two weeks ago.

Thank you very much for that information. I appreciate that. I was afraid I may go a little long with mine. I’m in my fourth week since 12 12 light change and I will quit using it now. I wondered how long I should go for all I knew it shouldn’t be for the whole thing. But far as I knew it could have been haha I’m still learning so thank you very much for the response.
