I’m gonna weigh in, in favor of Promix. Yes; it’s a non-renewable resource. However; it is less prone to compacting down like coco, doesn’t seguester nutes like coco and is less hydrophobic than coco. When mixed with perlite, gypsum and lime it buffers well at 6.0 and in my experience takes a wider range of liquid input with no issues. It is also lighter and more ‘airy’ than coco.
But it’s also pretty expensive and like stated is a fossil resource.

I’ve never used promix to be honest, just did what research I could on autopots before I started and it leaned me to coco. Promix HP is super cheap here for a bail, since its farmed fairly close. However after working up north and seeing peat bogs in the tundra I figured I’ll just stick with coco cuz it works and it’s renewable.

It’s already a hybrid. My plans were to pheno hunt for a nice plant to breed back into the line. But I think plans are changing and I may put this cross on the back burner for a little while.
