One of my Chocolope plant is starting to have issues. 5-6 leaves are turning yellow. One small patch of nutrient burn on the tiny leaf.

I noticed a few gnats awhile ago. Been dusting the dirt with Insect dust, Diatomaceous. Plant is due for harvest January 15th.
@bob31 @Countryboyjvd1971 I’ve been reading about fungus gnats and how they can eat at roots and turn leaves yellow. That might be my problem. DE doesn’t kill them and it’s too late to chuck the soil and replant. Should I heavily dose them daily with DE, does the potato wedges work?

One additional thing I do is take a bowl of apple cider vinegar and put it in the tent and the ones that fly that don’t get caught on the stickys will drowned in the vinegar!
@bob31. You are a super great help as always. I did put potato slices on the soil. I’ll go down with some Apple cider vinegar Right now. I have some hanging strip in the tent too. I must have gotten ahold of some bad organic soil. I read about putting sand on top of the soil, what kind Of sand?
I’m not sure about sand. I heard that one too but I don’t recall them be specific about what kind of sand? @Bobbi

I sure miss her, but it’s good to be back home. I found that I don’t like snow! It was only light flurries, but it sticks to you! I’ll take my wonderful liquid sunshine anyday!! Lol

I don’t know the answer for sure, but reason would call for a coarse sand for proper drainage. I may be mistaken in my reasoning, but only because the course sand may allow the gnats enough space to still gain access to the soil below.
I hate those gnats just as much as spider mites! …
Ive heatd a layer of play sand will prevent the nats ? Never tried it @Bobbi to be perfectly honest a layer of perilite will also help

Your leaves will start to yellow from bottom up around week five or six in flower and start to shed the fan leaves a light layer of de on top of soil will kill them as the walk around

@Countryboyjvd1971 I purchased some play sand yesterday but didn’t use it yet. I put two apple cider vinegar dishes in the tent. I read to let the plants dry out good between watering to help prevent gnats, I might have killed one plant by doing this, it was really drooping this morning, No sign of gnats! I hope the plant will come back, It has many yellow leaves.
place a thin layer of sand on top of soil and water normally they will recover fine the are dropping cause they are thirsty
What the apple cider vinegar do ?
The gnats fly into the bowl and drowned. They are really attracted to the smell I guess. I found that one on a different site and it caught more than the sticky traps did

I didn’t get any in Happy Frog either, but they were bad in the FFOF

i always let my ffof set in the sun and bake few days before i tried using it…lol
