Should I trim some leaves?

Im on day 52 with autoflower wedding cake. Doing 18/6 light in coco/perlite mixture with a ac infinity autowater base.

Should i trim some of these fan/sugar leaves to help promote more bud growth?

Which ones should i do if i need too?

I would start with the bigger ones at the bottom especially the yellow ones. Start withe the ones covering bud sites. Don’t go crazy defoliating just a small amount since it’s an auto. Your at 7.5 weeks and they usually are ready for harvest at 10-14 weeks. Tuck some leaves if you can. Wait a week then remove a few more. There are some expert auto growers that top and defoliate with great results .

Awesome grow

Thank you for the insight and help with that. When i trim do i have a specific area or part to clip at or go close to thr main stem?

First time grow altogether. Im just happy ive got to this stage at all haha.

I remove up to the stem. I don’t cut mine I just break off at the stem. Plants are pretty tough and resilient

On day 60. Did some defoliation over the last week as recommended since day 52.

She looks awesome so you could realistically have 2-6 more weeks. Do you have a way to check your Trichomes like a jeweler loupe or microscope?

A friend gave me a auto, he actually got the seed from me and was having another friend grow the plant, the guy moved so I ended up with it. Don’t remember what I gave him just that it’s a auto. Around 5 weeks now and I removed some leaves today. I hope it doesn’t stunt it’s growing. I no longer grow in soil but this was an exception.

Ive got a jewelers loop on the way. Ive basically piece mealed as i started. Got my entire startup going, then some addons as i went through and just got the drying rack and stuff.

Jewelers loop and cure bags up next.

Opinion from an auto grower…only trim what you need to for light, airflow, environment needs and to prevent mold and bud rot.

That being said, healthy autos do not care…this is an auto, day 53 above ground, when I removed almost every stemmed leaf (for the 3rd time), after topping on day 26, fwiw:

I understand about putting your grow tools together. I bought what I could first grow and started purchasing better lights and other items. I still don’t think I’m done. I think we all have some items we don’t use as much as on that first grow. When you see what this plant does and the beauty of it you start investing more as you can. I guess I’m addicted to growing. Check this type out its about $25 and it can connect to your phone or iPad. You just position it and take the pictures. It in my opinion its better than the loupe. I am not very steady and with this I don’t need to be to get could visual pics.

@Mozzy thanks for joining the conversation I haven’t done very much defoliation due to the information. Some say do some say don’t. It’s good to see pictures of a plant where it’s been done. I do low stress training and I grow hydroponic ebb and flow system. Autos get big and grow fast. This is 10-12 weeks from seedlings. I took them out trimmed them up and chopped and hung to dry.

Is the drying rack that thing that you hang and you place all the buds on it and you have to turn the buds over every so often, lot of work, ive found chopping and hanging the whole plant to work best for me, good luck.
