Should I top or stick with just LST on autos

Looking good Growmie, they’ll straighten themselves out :love_you_gesture:

For the one plant , bottom right, as it’s already leaning, can I LST it bending it the opposite way?

Absolutely, LST away….light stress training Growmie :love_you_gesture:

Quick question before starting LST, should I get rid of any of the big fan leaves or keep as is? Can I get some tips on how I should start? I was using this as a guide but plant seems to short to start maybe? Also, aren’t sativa leaves supposed to be skinnier and taller than Indica or is it due to being an auto?

Remove the growth from the 2nd node down Growmie. Personally I would let the 2 smaller plants grow a little more before any LST :love_you_gesture:

am i understanding correctly? for the purposes of making the cut, you count up from what is labeled #2 on the image you shared (first triple leaves) and then removing what is labeled #2 (which is the first node when starting to count from the triple leaves).

so you would be left with just #3 and #4? and if you have time, you’d let it grow one node taller before cutting and have #3, #4, and #5?

I always remove the lower 2 nodes and sometimes #3 if I have a big girl and light is not hitting the lower growth. Where I top depends on the training plan and the plant count. I’ve topped above the 5th, 4th and 3rd. Above the 5th is generally a simple topping and LST. Above the 4th leaving the 3rd is what’s commonly called a quadline. Above the 3rd is for a manifold and use this method when I have more plants than space, this method grows more vertical than width wise.

Quadline

2 quadlines in a 2 x 4

Manifold with 2 separate toppings on the Main and side growth. 6 plants in the same 2 x 4 but in 1 gallon pots

Topped above the 5th

So both smaller plants have 5 nodes. Can I ask where should I start with LST? 1st pic is the one plant I topped and I removed the growth from 2nd node down(hopefully I did it right). The next two plants are the ones with 5 nodes which I do not know where to start with LST. Do I need to remove any of the growth or just apply LST. Any markings/suggestions would be great.

I would top this above the 5th node

Think of the canopy as a clock, LST the sides with soft ties and the 2 mains from the topping to grow at 12, 6, 3, 9 o’clock and any where in between. The end goal is to create an even canopy so all the growth receives equal lighting. I don’t start the upper main LST until a week or so after the topping…recovery and some growth are needed.

This was a carcass from topping and LST

Seems my ladies are doing ok after some topping and LST but the top right plant seems to be curling and droopy. PPM and pH seems to be fine, what could be the issue?
