Alrighty, thats what they carry is highway dust. If its been proven and tested, i wanna give it a go sometime…
If Easy says its good…it is.
Sorry we stole your thread a sec @Tightnugs . Backing off…![]()
Earth Dust and Highway Dust are similar but not the same. As Storm mentioned Highway Dust doesn’t have any living dirt monsters in it. I can’t remember what @Roadsideorganics.ok has recommended on the site but I use the same stuff I’ve been using for a few years. The stuff he’s recommending seems similar to the stuff I use and looks like it is working great for him.
This is what I use, plus I use my old soil that is full of life or Fox Farm happy frog which is a living soil already
Amazing guys! Thanks for the advise and info. I’ll scratch in some more 2-8-4 power bloom which is a mix of (Bone meal, mineralized phosphate, fishbone meal, rock phosphate, mined potassium sulphate, glacial rock dust, insect frass, feather meal, basalt rock dust, kelp meal, humic acid, gypsum, greensand, blood meal) and water it in with worm casting/kelp tea. Hoping that will finish her off decent.
@Storm all good on borrowing the thread, I’m looking for something similar to ED
in Canada now.
I think you are on the right track
watering is the most important and probably the hardest thing to get right… the best way I’ve heard it described is think of your soil on a scale from 1-10 one being dry ten is soup the goal is to keep it somewhere between 4 n 7 throughout the grow. This keeps the living critters happy n healthy and as long as there is food in the soil your plants will be as happy as the soil
Good luck and happy growing ![]()

Man thanks for this, I have been following the wait until its dry, not wilting dry but dry. I have probably been killing off the critters in between watering causing the pH to go acidic in my outdoor as the soil is dry everyday after the heat. This is the best advise I have had for growing in living.
My plant is fading fast, probably not going to get any tight nugs outta her as the pistols haven’t even started turning brown yet. I will say other then the leaves rapidly turning yellow from the bottom up, she looks healthy.
I am using HD and now after the wettest June on record since 1880 my outdoor grow has taken off.
Here is one plant of 12.
If Easy says it’s good…it is. True that!
We got slammed with rain the middle of June also, brought some wild cool temps also, now we are roght into the heat of summer! Looking happy over there, love the rabbit! We have what we’ve dubbed the no-till gnome, pic from his latest greenhouse appearance lol

So if I’m using ocean forest soil and I’m in 3rd week of flower using fox farm trio, I don’t want to flush my plants because of living soil? Although the feeding chart for fox farm says to sledgehammer flush every 3 weeks or so. I transplanted them on may 27th into ocean forest and just started adding nutrients 2 weeks ago. I’m a little confused as to flush or not…
Living soil requires no flush…but…your nute line does. Not a true living soil. Follow the nute lines directions… stick with it. Next round can go to a truer living soil nute line. Usually a dry ammend.
