@CygnusX1 I was just catching up on some reading and realized I forgot to tag another autopot/rush guy! Sorry!
maybe you can install a set of chain falls, or one of those motorized chairs that goes up the stairs
Lol, I can see the look on the girls face already!!
Thanks for the tag. I’ll play catch-up in the morning.
My last run was 3 photos and they were going through ten gallons of water/feed a week at the end.
That’s way more than I expected!
They are going to drink some water! I can try and keep track of mine a little better and let you know. I would guess about 3 gallons a day for 2 plants now. I have also gone through all of my small bags of jacks that I started with approx 2lb I believe.
If you get to the point where you’re refilling the res twice a week be sure not to do what I did and feed every watering. I got caught up in making sure the res was always filled and wound up over feeding causing PH lockout. Once I realized what was happening I adjusted and they finished fine. Aside from the amount of water I think you’ll really like Autopots. One of the things I really like is I can get a PH reading right from the valve letting me know if the PH drifted which it usually does and I can adjust PH right at the res makes keeping things in line very easy.
I think I’m going to start planning on adding a 2nd res. I’m also beginning to get a little low on the jacks. This time I’m buying the bigger bags. Shipping will cost more but so much cheaper with the big bags!
Which nutrients are you using? I need to check later today but so far my ph has only drifted up slightly over a few day period. Today I will check the res and the trays to be sure they’re the same
I have a 12 gallon reservoir for every two plants. I am using two now and have a third if needed next run. My ph doesn’t swing too bad that it’s hurting anything. The big bags are what I got also. When I ordered them I got the jacks in part a and b. After looking the cal nitrate can be bought cheaper in other brands so take a look if you want.
Im currently using Prescription blend nutrients they’re a bit pricey but I’ve been having good results with them the only thing is I don’t use the kelp addition because it really cruds up the reservoir.
My 1st thought was to connect the 2 reservoirs together, but it sounds like you just have 2 separate reservoirs…makes more sense like that… lol in a rare move for me I pulled a wake and bake this morning, I’m pretty roasted and the brain hasn’t caught up yet. Better leave the thinking till I float back down!
Temperature also affects uptake. I have three in the closet each under its own HLG 260 rspec. Lights on temps mid-70’s. Lights off will drop 10 degrees to mid-60’s. I usually mix around 3 gallons. I am on day 56 12/12 and with that amount I can skip 1 and sometimes 2 days. They are in 2x2 frames. This is from 10 days ago
When they were transitioning and stretching, uptake and temps were higher.
Good point with the temps. In the 4x4 with 600rspec I’m mid to upper 70’s lights on. I will adapt to whatever water they need I just didn’t expect that much and wanted to cry about it for a bit!
On a side note I was pleasantly surprised. My last auto run in soil produced 12zips of fully dried and trimmed bud. I underestimated that by more than a bit.
In another 1st for me we found several places where resin was just oozing. No doubt this will carry us over for a while
Like maple syrup in spring.
The filter in my reservoir clogged up again. The first time was 10/30. At that time I thought it was related to either liquid silica, bud candy or Jack’s Blossom Booster. Well since then it has been a straight diet of Jack’s 321 with nothing extra. The filter did not have the blue crystals like it did before but it was clogged up nonetheless. One tray was dry. The other two still had some in them. Strange???
That is weird. I’ve had no issue thus far, other than a minor cal def. I think… I’m just jacks, calmag and sometimes tribus
Maybe just some residual on the sides of the res?
