First grow and could use some advice IS IT TIME TO HARVEST. She’s been through a lot. Strawberry Cough grown outdoors in Fox Farm soil with FF nutes in 5 gallon fabric pot. Nute burn pretty bad at about 5 weeks. She stayed about 8 inches tall for about 4 weeks but I did not give up on her. Had problems with ph being in the 5.5 range. Then last week I droped her and the main stem broke towards the bottom. Taped her up and gave her shade for 5-6 days and she made it through. She smells amazing. Not sure if it is time to harvest and /or whether to flush. At what point so I stop feeding her. Please look at my pics and let me know what yall think. Thanks so much for your help. @Docnraq you have helped before, would appreciate any advice you can give.
TOP BUDS:
Anyway you can use a magnifier to zoom on the trichomes on the buds?? Looks really close but not too sure. These are peak thc trichomes on flowers not sugar leaves…
All cloudy, no clear. If left to ripen a few more days they would bring turning amber and giving the couchlock effect.
Based on the overall bud pics and receding reddish brown pistils, beautiful by the way, all you need is to look at the trichs on the bracts, not the leaves and chop when you see what you want like gray and ryan said.
Yes, most look cloudy with a bit of clear in some. Very few are turning amber (only the heads of the trichomes). Does the whole trichome turn amber? Thank you so much @Graysin for your reply. I really appreciate your assistance.
Mine are not quite that cloudy but I do see some amber on the trichome head. I will continue to check her daily but from the advice here I may be harvesting in the next couple of days. Thank you so much for replying.
I would stop giving her nutes a week or so before you wanna chop. No need to flush the soil though. The time for that would have been when the runoff ph was 5.5. She looks great! Be sure to check the bud itself and not the sugar leaves for trichome done ness. The sugar leaves will mature faster then the buds so you wanna look past them.
Get as close as you can to @Borderryan22 trichome image.
Thanks again for all the replies. I think just a couple more days and she will be ready. I’ve spent so much time the last few months caring for her and reading as much as I can I almost hate to cut her down. But on the other hand I can’t wait to try her out after she has been harvested and cured.
Hey buddy I know its necro but how did you fare with the Strawberry Cough? Mine look exact like yours. Already some time with very milky trichs with a glassy one here and there.Only 1% amber but it stays like this for days. Some fan leaves are falling off. Not sure to harvest but Im afraid to overripe the plant as sativa dominant plants amber less I hear.
Hi, my Strawberry Cough was awesome! Very pleased with the strain and although I had some rough times with her she turned out very well for my first grow. Looking at your pictures the trihs still look a bit glassy but sometimes the camera will make it look that way. Can you send a picture of the whole plant? The pistols need to be brown and curled in. Also make sure you are looking at the trihs on buds and not the sugar leaves. I also wait till I have at least 10% amber. I bet she smells awesome. That’s one thing I loved about that stain, the sweet smell she put out and after curing she had the same sweet smell. Hope yours turns out as good as mine did. Happy growing!
