Seeds in Feminized Buds

Grew my feminized autoflower Northern Lights. Everything went great. Got good yield out of plant. Dried it, cured it; when I went to grind some up, noticed there were a few seeds. Not that many, but still, I dont understand what happened. It was definitely a female plant. I’m not complaining, I just want to know what happened. Does anybody know how this happened? I only grew that one plant, there were no others around.

It’s not uncommon for a female plant to produce a few seeds at the end of its life.

Stress can also cause her to herm. Ive read that nanners form if you flower too long, like past ripeness.few different ways a female can end up with a seed or two.

Would these seeds be viable? Would these seeds be feminized, autoflowers, like there mother?

They are often not mature enough to plant, but you can take your chances at it. Most likely they would be regular (non-fem) autoflowers.

Agree with @MidwestGuy I just grew a Sour Diesel seed from an auto I harvested :love_you_gesture:

If your plant actually hermied on you and grew pollen sacs, they would be autoflower regular seeds. With only a few seeds, it probably sprouted a nanner or two, they produce pollen too but have female genes, so your seeds would be feminized autos.

If they are mature enough, they could be viable seeds, but it’s up you if you trust them, they will have the propensity to do what the mother did, either hermie (not good) or nanner if left too long.

I get a couple here and there myself. I plant them and see. 60% have hermied. Others made great flowers. MALES!! Gotta watchem. Had 7 outa 10 seeds either male or a hermie last big bag seed run.

My Spring 2022 seed crop (currently harvesting) has a 40-50% germination rate (poor). More small imature seeds than beautiful shinny
The germinated seedling either grow slow (new seedling soil) or result in a health males flowering at node 4. Seedlings in 12/12 flower tent, just practicing until October temps cooler. Unknown genetics ans suspected poor possibility, but needed cheap seeds for experimenting. Quality seeds for breeding, my vote, just no cash.
