Seeds, freeze, bake

Ok, I had some plants hermie on me last grow, I put most of it in the freezer in vacuum sealed bags. Pulled it out this morning to decarb and it’s in the oven now.
Just wondering if the seeds are still any good after freezing, and now baking at 225 degrees?

Possibly after the freezer but not after the bake. I would think that dried them out.
But for Science :upside_down_face::wink: ya gotta try :green_heart::metal:

Highly doubt it, if they actually froze in the freezer the ice crystals would have damaged them at a cellular level. Meaning when water freezes it crystallizes, and crystals are sharp and will actually destroy the cells themselves.

That’s not even considering they been cooked also. so I’d say there’s a very little chance of them being viable still imho.

What is the reason to do this? To get rid of them or??? Just curious :face_with_monocle:

Only reason is, it’s what’s left in the buds I’m decarbing. I pulled about 1,000 out before freezing, was just wondering if these were worth saving, but by the answers so far, they are trash. Not that I don’t have enough to last me a few years :joy::joy:

I pulled some from bag weed I had in freezer a couple years ago and dropped em in soil, watered and set them in sun. 5 of 7 sprouted (Go Figure) but I let em dry out and die. Have no clue if they would have been able to make anything though.

Ahh weed seeds frozen for more than 20 years are still sprouting today. Freezing seeds for future use is practiced by many cannibis farmers including yours truly.

My last one bitched everytime a seed popped in a J. She went on and on about how we didn’t need anymore seeds till I finally ran her off.
