Mine seem to sprout in a couple days, but I left them in little peat pots covered in total darkness
I only put them in about a 16th of an inch in the peat,
I turned off the lights. Thanks
You should leave the lights on. In fact leave them on 24 hrs to help prevent stretching once they break soil. The only need for darkness it to prevent the root from being exposed as the light can damage the exposed root. But in the soil that’s of no concern.
Here is an easy way to start and transplant seedlings.
Take two solo cups and split the sides of one all the way down on two sides Place the split cup and a second one. Drain holes in both.
When time to transplant, between two and three weeks, just make a hole in the new home with another solo cup and pop the plant into the hole. Water it the night before and you wont have any problem. No shock to the plant. Takes about 30 seconds to do it.
I’m turning them back on. Just wondering if I need a grow tent to grow in? I’m doing it now in my basement with controlled heat and a/c. Wasn’t sure if I needed to send that money on that. Let me know and thank you for the advice.

Not absolutely necessary. If you can provide reflective walls it does help. Flat white paint is one of the best reflectors. Avoid foil and mirrors. Even if its just painted cardboard it works. But again not an issue to just have a light above the plants.
Your welcome, the easy way is little peat cubes, wet it put the seed about a 16th in the peat Cover it for a couple of days and then put the whole peat right in the soil you’re trans planting, you don’t need to cut no cups that looks like a mess
There’s 1 million ways do it, do what you’re comfortable with I’ve been growing for years and never had a problem with the Peat cubes, when it’s time to plant them just make a hole put it right in, you’re done
That’s the way I’ll do it next time. Thanks!
