Seedlings amnesia Haze and AK-47

Got my girls from ILGM and couldn’t be happier with my experience so far. My question is: they are about one week after sprouting. When do I start applying nutes & how long before I start vegging?
As always many thanks

Hey @Laurap personally for me i would give them another week of just PHd water 5.8 for coco or 6.5 for soil… once they get to 2 weeks old introduce your nutes at a weaker mix first 50% strength for a few days just so they can get used to it without burning

ok @Laurap, here is what i have learned,or what i do…lol
i start out by soaking my rapid rooters with a light mix of superthrive.
i usually do not give any nutes until about the third set of true leafs…which is diluted i use an a+b and would put 1ml per of each per half gallon…
vegging starts around the 5-6 set of true leafs…from there steadly raise your nutes as you go…more is not better, try to remember that…

Thanks so much. Wow, this has already been quite a journey. Battling temps, humidity and of course stupidity, but all in all I wouldn’t have it any other way. Learning from mistakes, but I’ve got all of y’all watching my back. I’m following your advice but iay have screwed up. I’ve got a third soil, third coir, & work castings. Been keeping pH @ 6.5. will it work!? Lol

Your PH value will depend on the type of grow medium you are using. Soil medium has a higher PH range were as hydro and soiless mixes have a lower PH range. Here is a chart showing the correct PH ranges for both types of mediums. If you are unsure weather your medium is soiless or not just let us know what brand you are using and we can help you get it figured out.

As for your original question about when to give it nutes I agree with @BIGE with waiting until it has 5 sets of true leafs. And even then it is good to start off with 1/4 - 1/2 strength so that you don’t shock your plants. Depending on the soil you are using some soils already have nutrients mixed in so there may even be enough in your medium to sustain growth beyond the 5 sets of true leafs.

As far as i know a mix is the same PH as soil so 6.5 will work lovely @Laurap

Thanks for info. I’m a big fan of charts so thanks for it as well.

Thanks, was thinking OMG, as soil is of my own device. Actually thought by adding coir would lighten up and make soil airyer. Initially bought perlite but if you gotta have gloves an mask to handle didn’t want my girls to have it.

i love my perlite… 90% coco coir 10% perlite is what i use

Did you use gloves and mask? That’s what drew me back

not for perlite… its dusty but not to bad… vermiculite on the other hand that stuff is horrible gets everywhere

Morning everyone, my girls are about 9 days after sprouting. We got two sets of good leaves & new set on it’s way. Should I start vegging when the third set is fully grown or should it be done now?

By veg do you mean transplant in to a bigger pot? Or do u mean take the dome off? Cuz in my novice mind veg is just kinda when they aren’t seedlings anymore. Light isn’t gunna change times so really all you could do is put it in a bigger pot, which you probably could do now… Or you could wait a set of Leaves or two… They’re kinda young but I don’t think going into something bigger would stress them as long as they can keep getting good amounts of light

Botonicare super thrive is good for keeping plants from getting overly stressed out too. I’d give em a little watering with it when u do transplant, start topping, picking leaves off, or anything that could stress em

Domes off have two full sets leaves not counting nodes and third set will be out by morning. Stalks seem fragile so not sure if I should go for height yet. Largest girls stalk approximately one & three quarter ibches tall. Will @garrigan62 had me transplant due to height issue

My girls, to me beautiful💖! 9 days old
