Seedling won't grow any more

Hey guys and gals, I had a do-si-do auto seed given to me. Put it in wet paper towel for about 4 or 5 days until it got a good tail then put it in happy frog dirt. It came up within 2 days and now it’s been like 8 days and it hasn’t done a thing since it got this doll You can see I put a cover over it keep the cover wet and it still is not growing. Any ideas??? It is an outside plant so put it in mostly shaded area until it gets used to the sun. I just can’t figure why it’s not growing.

Stunting is nearly always due to overwatering. If using a dome the soil should be completely dry.

Even if watering without a dome, a seedling should only get a couple ml of water per day.

Cannabis tolerates dry soil far better than wet soil, particularly in the seedling stage. The roots need oxygen and they cannot extract oxygen from soil that is constantly wet.

Remove the dome and let your soil dry out before watering again. The plant should recover.

Yep.^^^^ let it dry out. Maybe get a light light breeze on it. Once a seed soaks, it has enough water to last nearly a week.

Well I did just leave to go downstate for 2 days and I took the dome off while I was gone because we did get some heavy rains that soaked the dirt. And it was dry when I got back. We’ll see hopefully it takes off. When I got home I did spray up into the dome and just the light wisp on the leaves I put the dome back on. Maybe I will go back down and take the dome off for another day or two. So without a dome on it I won’t need to spray the leaves to make sure they’re wet? Always thought they only got their water off the leaves until they grew roots.

Don’t spray them, they have a taproot now, believe it or not. Too wet will cause them to stunt and stall. Let you media dry back, and start watering to the outside edge for a couple weeks to make the roots seek out the water.

Update on the do-se-do Auto plant that never took off. Here is a pic from yesterday.

Stayed alive but…
Lol just never grew.
Of course it’s only been 2 months so maybe I’m just expecting more out of my plants. Lol

If that plant is two months old, I doubt it will ever amount to much.
So sorry.

Odd it did not grow. Another example of autos doing auto things.

Well it is definitely two months old as you can tell by the picture and when I post it last time. And I knew it wasn’t going to amount to anything but I just don’t have it in me to kill a plant. I will let it go to the end. Matter of fact I thought about bringing it in and putting it in the tent now that I’ve got my other two out. We shall see once my Gelato’s are dried out and put away.

I have a harsh attitude. If they are not going to produce, I get rid of them.

Agreed @merlin44 , I’d rather throw them out than waste space, time, energy, nutes, etc on a plant that won’t produce, use those on healthy plants that want to grow.:oncoming_fist::+1:

Here’s a picture from today. This thing is taking off like there’s no tomorrow so hopefully it will still be okay Glad I did not throw it away.

@Lordfarquad55 Welcome to the forum

Early growth occurs in stages; First the seedling has to develop a root system and begin producing energy.

After the initial germination, the seminal roots develop root hairs, then individual roots begin growth seeking out nutrients and anchoring the plant. There is a heck of a lot of growth underground before above ground starts to take off.

Update on the do-si-do Auto. She is sucking down the nuts like there is no tomorrow.

Question: since this plant was started the beginning. of July and it just sat there for months not growing more than 2 or 3 in. Then bringing it in the house a couple weeks ago and have it take off like this. This is an auto how am I supposed to tell when it is starting to do the stretch towards budding up? This is what the top of the plant looks like now.

Thanks for any help guys and gals sure do appreciate the advice.
Today’s date would make it 3 months old. It does have some white hairs on it.

Well sitting down here looking at this lady I just had the feeling since she was growing like a week to try a little bondage on her.

Just figured I could try some new things on this plant since she ended up being a throwaway plant few weeks ago anyways. Wish me luck.
