Looking to start some seeds tonight. And about a week put them into soil once they germinate. Questions are once they germinate they will be above soil for about a week and a half before I leave on vacation. Should I wait or water a little and cover with a dome. I’ll be gone for 10 days.

I would not let a plant that young go on its own for 10 days. There are auto watering systems and I’m sure it could be done.

I agree with @Riskguy they are like a baby you have to stay with them "baby sitting " til they get in veg. Happy growing my friend

I agree with what he said 
It makes no sense to start something than going vacation that needs daily attention. Seedling stage is the most crucial of your entire grow. Wait till you come back from vacation then start this project you’ll be glad you waited. Nothing worse than coming home from vacation to dead plants
