I have 10 gold leaf seeds that did germinate, but all grew with the seed stuck to them and died.
Sometimes you need to help the seedling shed the seed shell. I gently use tweezers to get them off.
the seed husk is not the killer. the tough inner membrane IS …if it does not come off, the first leaves will not open and plant dies.
a mist spray will soften the membrane and it falls off.
I use a needle to VERY CAREFULLY take off the husk and the membrane…IF…it can’t do it byself.
Break the first leaves or the tap root…it’s dead. VERY CAREFULLY
