Scrug, new build, indoor, hydro, Lucas formula

Gator Breath #2 11.8

10 days in, 6 black widows in main tent, looking good, and 2 Fat Bastards and 1 Moonshine Cookies in the scrog tent looking good.
Last batch, 4.5 lbs, would have been double but the London Pound Cake hermied and I didn’t catch it in time, so all 5 plants in there are (trim) for gummies and butter. The GDP was soooo sticky it was hard to handle so that will make nice goodies.

Still liking the hydro system? I’m
About to make the purchase

Actually I love it, it’s easy to use. Some people build their own, but I bought mine.
I’m sure it’s me, but seedling to end of veg I do great, just in bloom is where it starts to fall apart, last grow was hermie, this one I just got done with was foxtailing. Had big beautiful buds until then, then they got loose and airy. I’m thinking I need a lung room so I can control temp better.

Have you been monitoring your light intensity? That’ll usually be your issue with foxtails.

Light leaks will also cause foxtailing @

I’ve started to, I’ve noticed on the Bestva 450’s, it has a higher DLI then the others. Which the Bestva 450’s have switches on and off, no adjustment, bloom and veg switch. On my HLG 630w, spider farmer se 7000 and green beam 480w they have dimmers. But same height as the Bestva’ sand at full power, the bestva’s higher DLI, whick I’m no lighting guy but that seems backwards to me, as the others are higher wattage.

Due to the heat, I usually run my lights at night, and I know one tent has a slight tear I’ve patched. I’m also running a portable a/c unit inside the tent, the hose that normally would fit in a window, light does penetrate it, not sure if that’s enough light to cause the foxtailing.
My other tent also has a portable a/c unit set up the same way.
My concern is the heat the exhaust from these units put off, push’s the tents into the high 90’s.
I have the units pushed up very close to the walls, so don’t think much light if any is getting in.

Do you have exhaust fan inside the tent or any other motors that put off heat inside tent

I have a carbon filter inside but the fan itself is outside the tent, dehumidifier inside that puts off lots of exhaust heat.
Been considering building either a lung room or just a big room inside my 30’x50’ metal shop but there is another expense. Been thinking a 20’x20’ stick built, very well insulated with a small lung room attached to one end. Then I would have no exhaust inside the grow room. The 20x20 would have 3 separate rooms, 1 grow, 1 dry and trim, and 1 small one for storage, at least that’s my original thoughts. Have even thought about 2 grow rooms, 1 veg, 1 bloom, still bashing it out in my mind

@Mntmannw Can you put dehumidifier on outside of tent blowing in o ne of your holes at bottom of tent your exhaust fan will pull mist in tent that’s probably where most of the heats coming from

I can figure out a way, I hope

One issue I’m figuring if the dehumidifier is outside the tent(inside my steel building) it would be running all the time, pumping very low humidity into the tent.

Yea you might not be able to run it that way @Mntmannw sorry my friend

I’m thinking maybe Jerry rigging something to vent the exhaust out one of the holes

Yea know that is possible @Mntmannw i do things that way too

I just went through this grow journal start to finish, I wanted to thank you for posting it and keeping it updated through everything. I am trying to learn from other people asking questions and there is a lot of good info in here. While I don’t have the resources currently to do a full on hydro grow right now I can hope that 1 day I might be able to. I’m in coco using Jacks, but I am the delivery and drain system for my plants. Nice work here!

I started with a DWC system, it got to be a hassle changing the water weekly, and harder to control water temp.
I’m still a beginner, only been about 1 1/2 years, on my 4 th grow, each one has gotten better thanks to the people on this forum but I’m still making mistakes and still learning

Well it’s been awhile since I posted, had a lot of issues here, my mother had a heart attack at 89, so I’ve been very busy with her, luckily there was t any damage to the heart.
I’m in week 6 of bloom, black widow-6 plants, 2 of the plants in the stretch, forgot to stop stretching and got to where they were touching the lights, had to tie them over a little. Second time in a row I have foxtailing, still not sure what’s causing it.
Will try and post some pics later this week.
