Ok I am going to build a scrog net for my GDP. What dimensions do you suggest and how far above my pot or plant do I need it? Also if I have to move in a couple of weeks so I just pick up plant, scrog net and carry at one time? I am getting ready to move to a new room in a 2 or 3 weeks. Suggestions greatly appreciated.
The scrog queen @raustin typically advises a minimum of 12 inches from pot top. A photo of the plant would be super beneficial. As the size and distances to use are based really on your grow space. Give us some info. How many weeks? How big the tent? Lighting?
She could also recommend a net or three and advise on moving it around. Give her a bit and pick her brain. (Everyone else does.
GDP is an excellently strain choice to scrog btw. If you have a journal can u tag me in it?
Edit my bad. Didnt see the question twice.
I typically have the net about 15" above the pot. I need room to get in there and feed/prune etc.
Are you in a tent? Typically a 2’x2’ is pretty easy to fill with one plant, but there’s no reason you can build a bigger screen and not fill it all the way.
If you’re moving in 2-3 weeks you’ll most certainly not want to start pulling your branches over/under/through the netting. It’d be best to lst and super crop the plant to get it as wide and low as possible, and then drop the screen when you’re at e final destination.
@PurpNGold74, I think you already answered with everything I would’ve said. Lol
Here’s a couple of shots of a mobile screen that is tied to the pot and adjustable for height. It can be used to carry the plant around.
bows thank you sensei
did she post spacing over there? I found it, came back here, and lost it
Thats some sexy DIY there @Myfriendis410 how u been? Ur grow still growing and i filld up my tags again?
Doing good. I’m shut down until New Year’s and right now enjoying the last harvest. That Crystal is pretty amazing.
Hey, can you give some advice? I posted some questions and a little whining but don’t know how to navigate this site very well yet. I’m an old bastard.
You had some good advice for me a week or so ago.
Thanks a heap.
Here’s a good guide for you to read
Thank you all for advice. I lost my prior post about scrog so I apologize for duplicate. Anyway my girl is a Grand daddy purple. She is 47 days old and the discoloration was do to roly poly’s but it is all good now not getting worse and bugs are gone.
I was going to move everybody to a new room it size is actually 9x13 but thinking of laying it out as a 3x10 room to walk around the girls and tend to them. But my grandma is quite ill and in hospital and I might have to move her in with me. So room might be on hold for a bit.
I was going to use pvc with yarn as my net and do a 3x3 scrog. And 12 inches above the pot. I am going to try and put it together today as soon as I get back from hospital. I will ppst pics when I get it done.
Thanks again!!!
Here she is I have 11 but this will be the first to scrog. And should you scrog autos or not I have 3 autos. GDP is photo.
Probably best to only SCROG the photos. You don’t want to slow down autos. LST is probably best until you get a bit of experience with your setup.
Thank you for your help. This is my first grow and just winging it the best I can. If it wasn’t for the kind folks here, I dont know what I would do. So no scrogging autos and just make it to the end with me and the girls still alive.
I’m a fan of the SCROG and use it whenever possible. You are doing the right thing and once you get a grow or two under your belt it will all come easier. I’ve been doing it for some time now and there are some nuances to boutique cannabis growing that I am only now delving into. Lots of good folks here so don’t hesitate to tag people. Use the @ sign in front of anyone’s handle if you want to notify them.
@raustin is a SCROG’ger too: she might weigh in.
Thanks for the tag, @Myfriendis410.
I wouldn’t SCROG an auto. Not only do autos not like all that training, but they don’t veg long enough to fill the net, they’ll start to flower before you even start scroging. I would try some LST on autos instead.
I got the scrog built now waiting until it reaches the net I have 4" to go.
Here’s an auto I am scrogging. It almost 5 weeks now. Supercroped it at 3 weeks and started to scrog just after that.
Nice job can’t wait till mine starts filling one out. Mine is a photo. But I do have 3 autos that are about a week old. I have to buy more lights to cover all the scrogs.
