I’m not expert for sure, but from the manufacturers page it states “HLG 350R uses 2 of our custom designed full spectrum high efficiency Advanced Diablo™ Quantum Boards”, so I would consider using LED Full Spectrum?
The full spectrum setting gives me readings of approx 550 ppfd, and approximately 24 dli. It jumps up considerably with the red/blue setting. I have it set on 280w right now about 19” above.
Well, it was @SilvaBack203 and @MidwestGuy that helped me dial-in my lights, in this thread maybe they can jump in here.
They told me the following PPFD and I was at 18/6 schedule:
Proper PPFD levels:
Seedlings: 300
Veg: 600-800
Flower: 800 to 1,000
When I compare my Photone numbers to the PAR chart for my light, the numbers pretty well line up so ATM I trust the app well enough.
You wanna use the sun setting when using the app. If you are using iPhone you might need to add a blank paper 2 filter it out… @Graysin can help you out better with the app. Recently all i use to find ppfd and dli is my pulse pro…
The 350r is a great light many growers here use it
Nice, thanks!
I will try the sun setting. You sound pretty definitive about that. Hlg didn’t know. Thanks.
I just tested the sun setting, and I do believe you are correct. At full power, 18” above, it reads approximately 700 ppfd (varies when I move it around) and approximately 30 to 35 dli on the 12 hr. Setting. I’m leaving it on full throttle. Thanks for the tip.
No problem at all glad to help any time. I do love Hlg myself I have 3 of there lights going. Diablo 200, 260w XL V2 Rspect and the blackbird…
You’re dead on. No need for me to jump in.
Well she finally looks really healthy to me, completely. I’m very happy :-). Thanks everyone for your help!
Awesome. Those lower leaves with the lil bit of yellowing can come off in a couple more nodes if you want to remove them. I find it easier to keep track of damage if I pull the old stuff off. Right now she needs the solar panels but after she grows out a few more I’d go ahead and snip em off.
I hear you on the lower leaves! It taught me to not get nutes for the first three weeks!
What do you guys think of her today? It looks like her leaves are curling upward a little bit?
By the way I noticed when I zipped up the tent, the fan was almost pointed directly at her. Could it possibly be too much wind?
It really could be. Wind burn can look like deficiency and sometimes like light burn. Redirect the airflow to be less head-on. Bet she’ll shape up.
Yep pointed at the wall until she’s bigger!
Thank you for all your continued help, it is really appreciated!
So tomorrow I’m supposed to increase the nutrients, I’m using GH Flora trio, calmag & Hydroguard. Measuring PPM/EC just now shows almost the same concentration as when I refilled last weekend.
Should I do full replacement or half or something else?
Thanks again!
I’ve been doing this a long time and I have never seen a plant get wind burn, never. Now I’ve had wind burn from riding motorcycles unprotected. But even that took hours of 100 mph plus riding in a t-shirt only…
Nice the baby is looking healthy
@SilvaBack203 this is an amnesia haze auto plant growing outside planted in the ground for 11 weeks/79 days. It’s been in the low to mid 90s here for a couple of weeks, and I put a pop-up greenhouse around this plant.
This doesn’t look like 70% of the hairs are brown, and it doesn’t look like the trichomes are cloudy. What do you think?
